Project Summary
The main objective of the project was Exchange of Good Practices. The Project Title was “Entrepreneurship and internationalization at Skåbu secondary school”. Project duration was 01-09-2018 – 31-08-2020. Our main objectives was aimed at the exchange of students and teachers over short terms. We have visited our cooperating school, Thomas Tallis School, twice, and they have visited us twice during the project period. We also managed to establish cooperation meetings about discussing teaching methods according to entrepreneurial competences. When our secondary school was moved in 2019, we continued the project with our eldest students in primary school. The activities that have found place, are all as we planned. Students and teachers from Skåbu visited London, and got to take part of the school life at Thomas Tallis, together with some learning activities including London as a learning area. These visits found place in September 2018, and September 2019. The other half of the exchange was that students and teachers from Thomas Tallis school visited Skåbu. These activities found place in March 2019 and March 2020. To fully see our project´s main achievements and results we have divided this in three sections. Firstly, students: Making new contacts and friends, and developing real-life competencies concerning sociocultural and communicating learning skills. Secondly, teachers: Making contacts with school abroad, and expanding own experiences regarding own teaching methods and theory. Thirdly, local community: Making new contacts in schools local and abroad, and expanding financial possibilities. In the long-term, we think our students have had experiences that they will keep in mind for a lifetime, and they earned small personal victories every time they had get out of their comfort-zone and make contact to other students. The winnings for the students also includes an understanding of that the simmilarities between youngsters in a very small school in the mountains of Norway and students in a European metropol as London are much easier to see, than the differences between them. In the long-term, it is a challenge to continue this work without external funding, such as Erasmus+.
