Project Summary
Four elementary schools from Germany, Slovenia, Greece and Sweden have joined forces to form the project “Europe Films Europe: Integration / Inclusion”.
During each of the four project phases, a short film was shot by the participants on the project-relevant results in their own country, which was presented during the AULs. At each meeting, a joint film was shot in detail on the subject, edited with computer-controlled software and also presented.
In the first phase, the topic “problems in the field of integration / inclusion” was researched and filmed.
In the second phase, the topic “hasty judgments and prejudices” was worked on and filmed.
In the third phase the topic “Integration possibilities, wishes and ideals” was researched and filmed.
In the 4th phase the topic “solution possibilities” was researched and filmed.
Participants: 6 students and 3 teachers / country
Based on the findings of all four phases, a handbook was produced in which the problems identified and their solution options for integration / inclusion were documented. In addition, it was noted how the digital media (PC, cameras) used and the processing software programs are used properly.
In addition to the AULs, 3 transnational project meetings were held:
1. a preparatory meeting in the beginning in DE
2. a meeting in the middle of the project in SLO
3. a follow-up meeting with evaluation in GR
Participants: 3 teachers / country
The participants have become aware of the different culture and ideology. They have learned that their own understanding of culture and belief is not universal, that there are different views and behaviors, and that getting to know other cultures (besides all difficulties) can be rewarding!
This also applies to dealing with people with special needs. Through the project, the participants have received an expanded view of the needs and abilities of the people of this group and developed ways to integrate them as best as possible.
The participants have learned to recognize problems of integration / inclusion, to have solution strategies and to apply them sustainably. They have carried their own culture to other countries to report about themselves and their culture in an appropriate manner.
Traveling to foreign countries, presenting, explaining films, and working together in international groups made the students much more confident. In addition, the participants have learned the need to learn other languages, especially English.
They have strengthened their confidence and confidence in the unknown, have become bolder and are now interested in getting involved in future international projects.
