Project Summary
In our project “European Club for Improving Life”, from now on “EuCliLife”, we lay the foundations for building stable and interdisciplinary structures in schools beyond the curricular area, thus differentiating itself from a school sports club. We try to educate in healthy living values so important in the development of the student. We also attach great importance to the values of tolerance through the European cultural heritage as a basis for education in the future European citizen. The whole project will work through national and international working groups getting a more general vision of the project as well as an improvement of their linguistic and social competences.
“EuCliLife” aims to equip participants with a set of competences and skills which are intended to become lifelong habits. These competence areas are, in turn, verifiable objectives that the project aims to achieve, such as improving healthy habits (physical activity and nutrition), developing communication and teamwork skills, social skills and European citizenship, respecting diversity (geographical, functional and sexual) and social inclusion (solidarity, tolerance and respect). And all this within the framework of an institutional dimension, which also aims to achieve objectives such as: in-depth assimilation of the Erasmus+ programme, improving language skills throughout the educational community, improving the professional skills of teachers in the areas of health and nutrition, civic awareness and cultural expressions, and the acquisition of digital skills in education, which are so necessary in these times.
There are three participating school clubs from Turkey, Bulgaria and Spain with 13-15 year old students and teachers from each school with proven experience in each school. There will be student and teacher exchanges. It is estimated that there will be a direct benefit to over 100 students and an indirect benefit to just over 1500 students. Improving the teacher’s profile is one of our priorities, so they will receive support and advice on how to improve their teaching methods in healthy habits and social inclusion values.
We will carry out three training meetings starting in Spain with sessions on physical activity habits and cultural heritage, followed in Bulgaria with sessions on nutritional habits and cultural heritage, and finally Turkey with sessions on social inclusion, civic citizenship and cultural heritage; and three teaching, learning and training activities in Bulgaria, Turkey and Spain where the activities of a Health Club will be put into practice by means of a gymkhana. We will use all the information generated by the project through platforms such as eTwinning, Twinspace, Instagram, Web, whose dissemination covers the entire educational community of the centres.
We will establish activities aimed at: training teachers to acquire key competencies related to the club’s dynamics; developing the club’s own activities, monitoring and evaluating the impact obtained; improving iteratively by including new activities or improving the current ones according to the club’s general criteria. The initial activities go through the basic training of the teachers involved and the training of the clubs in each of the members. In parallel, there will be activities to improve the structure of the clubs and include multicultural aspects and other activities oriented to achieve the objectives and achieve the desired impact on the participants (training and development) with different measurements.
This project will contribute to the development and improvement of our educational institutions both at the level of the learner and the teacher in the long term. At the level of the student we will have students with healthy habits that will give them a better quality of life and skills to share with more European citizens in an autonomous and tolerant way. And at the level of the teacher, an improvement in professional skills in the areas of health and nutrition, civic awareness and cultural expressions. When the project ends, the benefits obtained will be sustained over time by improving the quality of education and training and work in the school environment by combining higher levels of excellence and attractiveness with greater opportunities for all, including those in a disadvantaged position.
