Project Summary

FLIP – Flipped Learning in Praxis was a two year project funded by the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. The objective was to arrange workshops and training activities for teachers and trainers to implement and use flipped learning methodologies in teaching activities, by exchanging best practices and guidelines.

By implementing flipped learning in our partner schools we aim to create an equal opportunity for students to receive education, battle dropouts, strengthen rural communities and use innovative and new methodologies in ICT in the educational system. The benefits will be lower costs material costs in the long run, better access to quality teaching materials (especially important for rural areas) and focus on individual learning (whereas they can access the teaching material according to their own progress and speed).

Project partners ran a number of workshops for teachers in their respecitve countries and developed both materials and guidelines for schools that are interested in implementing flipped classroom methodology in their education. Additionally the project created a common platform for educators to share their tools, best practices, and methods. The project incorporated and build on existing initiatives in Europe and ran pilot programmes in partner countries in order to develop guidelines and display best practice cases. The platforms are web based and open access for all. Project partners, as well as teachers and schools throughout the partner countries, will continue to update and add relevant information to the platforms in the future, securing the sustainability and continuity of the project.

The results of the project were national/regional workshops for teachers, trainers and school administrators, developing tutorials and training materials, pilot projects with schools focusing on the implementation of flipped learning classrooms and development of a shared platform for information, guidelines and best practices.

A key factor of the project was the strong partnership involved where the focus was to create a broad group of passionate and innovative people that have a proven record of implementing and carrying out new ideas. Project partners have substantial background and knowledge in innovative teaching approaches and flipped learning activities. Furthermore they have a strong network of regional and national educational institutions that was utilised during the pilot phase of the project.
