Project Summary

Football and Information Technology (FIT) project is a School Exchange Partnerships written for students aged 15-19. Participating sides are a sports school from Bielsko-Biała (Poland) and a technical school from Neuwied (Germany). Each side intends to transfer to the partner some know-how from the field it specializes in. Our partnership is aimed directly at teenagers with not-market-suitable ICT skills and not healthy life education. The main objective of our project is to support their improvement in the mentioned areas through collaborative learning, promotion of physical activity and healthy nutrition, leading consequently to the most important wealth of a human being: a healthy lifestyle. On the other hand, we mean to gain new ICT skills in order to be more competitive on the European labour market. The project is therefore about how to be FIT in these two aspects of life.
We intend to show our students how to discover the advantages of practicing sports as a leisure activity (besides offering them health)and the advantages of being ICT competent:
* to have a proper occasion to socialize, to discover, appreciate and express themselves.
* to combat health risk behaviours
* to develop students’ digital skills
* to develop students’ fluency in English
* to make participants discover the diversity of the European environment
* to learn through exchange of best practices best ways of being healthy and ICT competent leading to the creation of new knowledge.
Teachers taking part:
* will learn how to increase students’ motivation towards health education and new ICT skills
* will benefit from the exchange of best practices with their colleagues from the other partner school, taking advantage of their experience
* will acquire new approaches towards promoting health and ICT skills both in their teaching activities and in the extra-curricular ones
* will improve their communication skills in English and German
As results, we expect:
* to change old unhealthy mentalities, inspiring and motivating participants and also our communities to take long-term benefit of the outcomes of this project, making lifelong changes in their daily habits towards an active and balanced life
* to raise students’ interest and motivation in getting new ICT skills and being competitive on the labour market
* to boost students’ self-esteem in as many foreseen activities as possible, broadening their knowledge horizon
* to develop teaching materials and approaches useful for the integration and education in classes
* to take measures in our schools, promoting healthy lifestyle and new ICT skills
* to spread our acquired knowledge to new generations of students, making the project live long-time after its ending.
Our project demands bilateral cooperation to achieve its goals, to take our time working out selected deficiencies and benefiting from being together in the circle of European heritage.
