Project Summary
Implementing the project ”Foreign mobility as a tool for strengthening students’ key competences” involves 3 student mobilities. Three partner schools from Poland, Italy and Greece will participate in the project.
Three groups of students aged 16-19 (10-14 from each Partner) and 2-3 teachers (on each partner’s side) will take part in each foreign mobility. The size of the groups which allows for effective implementation of the project’s objectives ensures the quality of the activities carried out and the products of the project have been adjusted to the themes of formal and non-formal activities conducted before and during mobilities. The activities implemented in the course of mobilities will be preceded by a thorough preparation of participants.
Classes will be conducted in smaller groups focused on practical learning and student cooperation and allowing for the introduction of elements of competition that will further improve the quality of results. In each group there will be students from Poland, Italy and Greece, each will have an assigned mentor / guardian who will support the implementation of activities, planning, communication and resolution of problems and conflicts. Working in international groups and focusing on quality will significantly affect students’ attitudes, leadership and language skills.
The chief objective of the project is to strengthen the key competences of the participants. The project activities will be focused on developing students’ knowledge, skills as well as language, digital competences, cultural awareness and expression, literacy, personal, social and learning competence. As part of the project activities, the school will involve participants with fewer opportunities, whose participation in the project will be facilitated by properly constructed recruitment criteria.
The participants are involved in a series of workshops on various aspects of folk culture, art, regional traditions and customs, conducted in each partner country. Students participate in folk dance classes, theatre and culinary workshops, sculpting and painting classes, arts and crafts workshops e.g. making paper cut-outs, sculptures and other handcraft. Participating in these activities students develop their knowledge about their own and other European cultures, which will contribute to raising students’ cultural awareness, develop their tolerance and facilitate understanding of the concept of European citizenship.
During mobilities the participants will develop their key competences, including linguistic and social ones. For all project activities the English language will be used. By using English to communicate in everyday situations students practise their speaking and listening skills and expand their vocabulary. Implementing project activities will result in higher exam results in English. Exchanging good practices will result in obtaining better standards of teaching, which will make the partner institutions more competitive and attractive on the educational market.
By working in international groups the participants will develop their interpersonal skills, learn cooperation, problem solving, time management and strengthen their self-esteem. They strengthen their competences in the digital area as well as in the field of understanding and creating information, the ability to build, publish, promote and fill professional multilingual content websites, use digital tools, including film cutting and photo editing software. Participating in art classes they will develop their creativity, practical and manual skills. The increase in skills and competences will broaden their future employment perspectives.
As a part of the project, it is planned to jointly prepare a website promoting the regions students come from as well as producing a film presenting traditions of each partner’s region and the students’ participation in workshops during mobilities.
Another concrete result of the activities is an outdoor exhibition of photography displayed in various places of the town after the final mobility and a guidebook of each partner’s region written in English and each partner’s national language illustrated with photos taken by students during mobilities.
The Project Team will be responsible for the quality of activities, which as part of the project will create effective tools to support the process of planning the tasks of their distribution to specific contractors, implementation monitoring, risk management process and communication.
Achieving the goals and planned effects of the project implementation will be monitored using the developed tools. Project partners will carry out a multi-stage evaluation of activities ensuring a high level of their implementation and affecting the sustainability of result.
At the last stage of the project, it is planned to disseminate activities by participants, the school and the partners, which will increase the impact of the project on the local and European environment.
