Project Summary

Four regions, one Europe

This project brought together four schools, all of them living in rural areas, far enough from big centers of culture and activity.

The aims of the projects were open-mindedness, European feeling, culture, willingness to learn languages (first of them, English, a common second language for all students of the project), communication, autonomy.
As the title wants to show it, we wanted to lean upon our regional knowledge and particularity to obtain a sense of being, all of us, European citizens: many differences exist between our four countries and regions, and at the same time, we are aware of belonging to a bigger entity which is Europe.
For teachers, the aim was also to get to know better the partners’ school systems and traditions.

Activities and products were organised according to several axis: daily life, environment, arts, cooking, local legends, visit of partner countries and week spent in partners’ families, welcoming and hosting of partners from the other three schools.

The final products are four websites, made by each partner, and a common DVD which will show the activities and results led during two years.

The impacts of this project remain local, but important: many of the participating students and adults whish to go on working together and keep links between their region and their partners’ regions, within a common European background.
