Project Summary
The project Future in the past is a project about joining the past and the presence in order to point at the situation in the world nowadays. By using a modern technology we will create material, which will combine the past with the presence and the future to invoke anti-nacism and anti-racism mood. All of the participants of this project struggled during The Second World War. A lot of our ancestors went through it and told us many stories, which are not only interesting, but also frightening and full of sadness. There are also many veterans who are still alive and who we annualy meet at the World War II remembrance ceremony. They always say some story and even after many years the stories make us have goosebumps. Not only of how it was, but also what if it happens again. But on the other hand, there are also some funny stories with happy endings, beautiful songs, pictures that we have to keep as a national herritage and let people know about them. Moreover there are still a lot of material things that people saved from the WW II that are worth to be published. In our areas you can attend a lot of monuments which that tourists may even not know about and are worth to see. This was the starting point for our idea. Use all the treasure we have there and find similar ones in other countries that have the same or similar history as we do. In this project there are four participants – Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania and Norway. We would like to join the countries that our students do know much about, so it might be exciting for them to explore something new. When we join the towns of our partners on the map, we create our logo – a broken heart, which is still beating and not giving up. From every school ten students and two accompanying people will visit the one of the partner`s country and create the material. So alltogether there will be four meetings, one in every country hosting thirty – six people.
And why the War? As a warning. The situation in the world is very difficult nowadays. There are many terrorist attacks on migrants as it was in Norway in the past or recently in Christchurch. Young innocent people were killed just because of different religion or race. And moreover, a terrorist from Christchurch posted a live video from it which we find immoral and extra-cruel. This is what we have to stop. We have to stop the cruelty, nacism, racism in the world. We have to lead young people, teach them about the cruel history and so they will learn from it and understand that such situation can lead only to war. In this project we want to teach them to tolerate migrants and refugees, to understand that they need our help and that they want to live normal peaceful life as we do. Moreover, it happens that media inform us just about the things that they want us to know. Sometimes they make up the story, write something without proof, or just not write about some serious things. So we want to find out, what is the situation nowadays in our partners`countries and experience it live so we can make our own opinion. While doing it we will create an innovative material for students and also for people interested in history and nowadays situation, because we want to interconnect the past with the presence. We will create a web page where you can come across all the material we will make. And so, you can find there a map of important parts from our partners` regions, stories that will be written in all the languages and also the videos made out of performances that we will do when we meet. Also you will find there beautiful pictures also combining past with the modern time. we will create it half-coloured and half black-and-white to express the idea better. According to the song, we will choose one, that individual verses will be sang in all the partners` languages and in the end combined together. Moreover to that song, we will create a suitable video, because we thing this can even leave bigger message. These created materials will be presented at the performances held at the meetings. All these material will be available on the created webpage also after the end of the project. Everybody will be able to use it and students will be motivated to actualize it even when the project is over. We believe that we will put the song on some channels where anybody can play it anytime. Also the plays that we will create from the stories will be available for any visitor of our webpage who would like to use it to create a drama performance out of it.
