Project Summary

The project brings together 8 associations from Albania, FYR of Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Czech republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Greece and Italy.
The project G-PCO gathered young people and youth workers facing the everyday reality of gender equality in their life, professional field and society in general. The project deeply explored themes such as: European awareness on gender matters, gender equality, focus on response to gender based violence in everyday life, youth policies on gender issues and youth education and information exchange on the topic. It served as a transformative process in order to provide knowledge, techniques and tools to develop skills and changes in attitudes and behaviors. During our set of activities, we made sure to provide participants with a safe environment to learn and share resources for deepening and focusing the emphasis of youth and educational activities which address issues related to gender.
The project idea was based on the national strategies on gender issues in Western Balkans and European Union, as well as on the evidence of young people’s involvement in gender related issues in the partner promoter’s experience. One of the main key points of the project was the exploration of the gender concept and its relevance to multicultural societies, as a tool to emphasize European Citizenship, education and participation.
The participants to the 3 activities were youth workers, youth leaders, activist and other young people interested and motivated to act as human right activist for gender based issues.
The whole project is related to the promotion of gender equality for increasing youth participation and involvement on equal bases without any discrimination of gender or sexuality. The theme reflects the reality of WB countries affecting directly young people working on youth issues, also other relevant EU countries that are part.

Within this Project the lead and partner organisation had the opportunity to train youth works/leaders/activists on the concrete themes, and equiped them with tools on how to fight gender based discrimination and promote inclusion and tolerance, considered as an added value to the work of each partner of the consortium.
