Project Summary

The preservation of the planet and climate change are major global issues. Every citizen has a role to play in this preservation and as teachers and therefore educators , it is also our responsibility to convey the message to our students and the best way to achieve this is through concrete actions, discoveries on the ground so that they become fully aware of them and very quickly adopt an eco-citizen attitude they can transmit around them and also to future generations.They are all the most concerned because they are part of this so-called “consumption” generation, that is to say that they do not have the reflex to make new with old but rather to throw away and buy back. Thus, if the school engages in a personal development of the individual for the preservation of the planet, it will mark the minds and give daily good habits in its favor. No social distinction can be made, this will be the general commitment of a school in which each will give its contribution. Students between the ages of 11 and 15 are in the midst of building their own thinking and personality, and it is on this criterion that it will be easier to act since no one will be left behind. This is all the most important because at this time of adolescence, the young person needs to be part of a group to feel good.
Schools are also good places for this kind of project because all the criteria are put together to become aware of its actions as eco-citizens on a daily basis: that they are in the resource economy (lamps switched off, water used to wash hands, paper not wasted…), biodiversity preservation outside the classrooms (particular attention to the fauna and flora that surround them), recycling ( separate bins in classrooms to recycle paper, recovery of computer equipment, selective sorting at the exit of the canteen….)and therefore the impact on pollution and climate change.
Although there are only about thirty of them per partner institution participated in physical meetings outside their country, this project will unite the entire educational community when the participants come. The partners will be present for five days and will meet other students through their participation in the discovery of the different educational systems. They will attend various courses with different teachers and will have access to the canteen and the premises allowing them to meet the entire educational community.
In addition, some visits and workshops will be organised during their stay, which will be an opportunity to connect institutions with local or regional associations or services. These events will have been planned before the arrival of the partners and thus the institutions will have already created links or even participated in some visits or workshops which will allow to develop long-term relations with these different organizations. The family entourage of the pupils will also have a role in this project as parents will be invited to European evenings, Accommodate European partners in some countries and will be in direct contact with the project to provide support and assistance to their children. This will give each family the same importance regardless of its social condition, which will be another way of promoting this inclusion.
The activities carried out during this partnership will aim to produce common final products: film/video, photo exhibition, PPT, DVD, CD, joint website, travel books, student portfolios, brochures, dictionary, Ecological anthem, calendars, herbariums…
These will be made available to the general public (pupils, teachers, parents, members of the community), but also to people outside the partner schools and neighbouring localities.
Impact:
Through the ecological activities carried out with involvement, children develop from the intellectual, emotional and moral point of view. Through concrete observations, children assess environmental health. They develop positive attitudes towards the degraded environment. Through some of their activities, children can be a role model for adults, blocking certain impulses of adults that destroy in an instant the harmony of nature (waste, pollution).
-establish permanent contact with Europe’s teaching frameworks, maintaining the exchange of good practice;
-promoting environmental education as part of education for sustainable development;
-use the knowledge and skills acquired for some positive and well-thought-out actions to solve environmental problems.
