Project Summary

The project “How to talk about intercultural education – intercultural competences in the pre-school pedagogy” is a school partnership project of 5 pre-schools from Germany, Italy, Sweden and Greece. The organisations would like to strengthen the inter cultural competences of their staff and to exchange about best practice methods in the field of working with children and families with a migration background.
Goal of the project is to advance in the direction of an inclusive intercultural work with children jointly and individually, and to develop examples and methods to work with.
During the 2 years of the project the colleagues of the different pre-schools will have the possibility to meet and visit the partner institutions in the other countries in the frame of transnational learning and teaching meetings. They also will be actively involved in the daily activities of the other institutions. Between the five transnational meetings the pre-schools will work on the topic and be in contact over the new media and the platform e-Twinning. The children, parents and staff of all institutions will be involved in the project through questionnaires and the practical exchange and realisation of new ideas and methods. At the end all these results will be presented in a brochure and be provided to other experts, parents and an interested public. Each institution will use their local, regional and national possibilities to distribute the results. The gained experiences can be used as well in the future by new colleagues of the institutions or by different institutions which are interested in the topic of intercultural communication.
