Project Summary

The main aim of our project was to change good practices of our own schools. All our activities were planned to fulfill this aim.
Our priorities were to gain the strenghtening of the professional profile of our teachers and to improve high level of skills, competencies and abilities. All the four of our good practices support the innovative methods of teaching folkdance and getting to know Hungarian traditions and folk art.
The teachers acquired the contents, methodology and conditions of good practices in frames of 5-day long joint staff training events. They also undertook to built the newly learnt good practices in their teaching practice twice a half-term. It extended and developed the educators’ professional competences.
During the 24 months of the project students made a children picture dictionary of ethnography in their own institution based on the differences of Hungarian dialects in the names of traditional clothing or traditional crafts. They explored the partners’ traditional dances and songs, too. We strengthened cooperation between different generations when watching and studying old dancers and craftsmen in their authentic circumstances. We organised short term – 7-day long – students’ exchanges twice in Kalocsa and Csíkszentkirály where the students could watch, experience and even try the Hungarians’ culture on different sides of the border. They showed what they learnt in performances organised in both countries.
During the local project events and transnational project meetings we got to know each other’s schools. Children involved in students’ exchanges got the chance to look beyond their own institution and to experience the importance of cooperation and accepting and respecting differences.
We showed all the results of our project on a common website refreshened continuously.
The institutions have been enriched through the exchange of good practices while learning from each other, building international cooperation and widening connections.
