Project Summary
The project responds to the needs of the learning environment and the participants, to current and future challenges, and contributes to the development of school systems and pedagogical practices. Key project objectives:
– apply multidisciplinary knowledge integrated in one issue,
– further developing entrepreneurial and digital competences,
– transfer of good practices for the professional development of teachers and the institution.
The labour market expects (participated students will be in the labour market for the next few years) from young people, flexibility, initiative, foreign language skills, innovation, digital literacy and entrepreneurship, indeed. Students can use individual skills to analyze and evaluate them, but a problem arises when a series of different skills need to be integrated into one complex issue. The holistic approach of incorporating different skills represents a challenge for students as well as teachers. The partnership has experience with project-based work and how to generates a complicated situation which requests integrated knowledge. Partners also have relevant ICT, arts and entrepreneurship skills, but not every project partner has the necessary skills.
Project results:
– Physically and virtually designed space with an international dimension (class/lobby/exterior), reflecting students’ acquired knowledge (in the project) of digital and entrepreneurial competence through the integration of art, design and psychology;
– a virtual 3D image that will give the outside visitor a glimpse of the space;
– content-based ITS that combines entrepreneurship and digital competence through the integration of the arts;
– plan of interdisciplinary content in different subjects.
Generating the final results will not be easy because the latter requires a range of different skills that students will develop in the course of the project in skills and competences. The content of the project is designed in a sophisticated way, as it deals with several different areas that we connect through the activities as a whole. Project activities stimulate creativity, ICT (in the direction of Digitization 4.0 process digitization), promote critical thinking, communication, argumentation, foreign language use, speaking, accepting constraints, working in a group and problem solving situation. The project will focus on entrepreneurial and digital competences, as these are necessary for successful future functioning in society. Through research among students, we found that the priorities of the target group of students differ from the preferences of the development of competences at the school level and the needs in the environment, so we set the project activities so that the students’ competencies will be developed through art. With the project, both schools will begin to address the shortage in particular areas (art and digitization, project management), provide for the professional and personal development of teachers, and enable students to develop the necessary competences by learning through a holistic and complex-oriented challenge.
The target group involved in the project is students aged 15 to 18 and teachers in the general education program. With the implemented project, integration of content into the regular curriculum and synergies of other activities, we expect long-term effects:
– the transition from classic subjects to project-based ones
– successful integration of young people after graduation, to the labour market
– more creative and creative students and teachers.
