Project Summary

IDEM, Identities in motion, is a project led by Samba Résille (FR) in partnership with the Pierre Verger Foundation (BR), the NGO Peniel (BN) and Chercheurs d’Autres (FR), four cultural youth organizations that draw on the full potential of culture to increase the well-being of the most vulnerable young people they accompany on a daily basis. It targeted the development of artistic, technical and managerial skills of the young people and youth actors of the partnership composed of animators, artistic participants, trainers, facilitators and managers, employees and volunteers. The program of activities, in response to the needs identified in the analytical diagnosis carried out jointly beforehand, organized 28 days of capacity building activities, 28 days of youth exchanges and 28 days of mobility for socio-educational animators for 71 beneficiaries, divided into 160 individual mobilities, including 44 people identified as having fewer opportunities; the latter were favored during the selection phase because without Erasmus+ resources they would not have been able to have an equivalent experience. The program of activities has been adapted to the needs and capacities of the participants, has given room for creativity and has relied on non-formal training to achieve the tangible and intangible results aimed at, consisting of:1.Tools created or transferred between peers, including: a.learning supports and methodologies based on aesthetics, animation and mediation techniques, b.musical scores, pedagogical sheets, presentations of good socio-educational practices, transferable action models, c.a platform for sharing the results, narrative composed of the participants’ documentations, several artistic works, recipes from the heritage of each organization and/or the cultural heritage of the actors,2.Intercultural skills developed and composed of a.knowledge (knowledge of the source and ancestral cultures specific to each partner’s geographical area) b.and skills for interpretation, discovery and interaction with people from different cultures (development of curiosity and openness to others, cultural inspiration management and cultural appropriation, cultural critical thinking skills)3.As well as managerial tools and processes on the logical framework and the establishment of strategies for evaluation and valorization of results. The results of the longitudinal, participatory and collaborative evaluation carried out have allowed us to observe transformations at the individual and organizational levels by strengthening the social skills, key and transversal for all, and by increasing the motivation of the partnership teams to better and more effectively accompany the most vulnerable youth. The communication strategy of the project’s activities and the strategy of dissemination and exploitation of the results allowed to reach a large audience, internally among the staff (358) and the young people of the consortium (2500), in their respective networks composed of youth and cultural associations, public institutions, local authorities and regional and national media (1600).Finally, this project has legitimized four structures in their national contexts on their capacity to produce action research on the efficiency of the cultural tool as a means of contributing to the well-being of young people in order to mobilize, connect and empower them*, a phase in which the partnership wishes to engage for a continuation of the collaboration. * https://ec.europa.eu/youth/policy/youth-strategy_fr
