Project Summary
The construction sector lacks highly qualified workers due to continuous development of technologies . The training of such workers requires preparation and creation of innovation training materials and suitable methodology supported by audio-visual techniques. Such materials was prepared in IPCIC project, and it covered aspects of soft skills. The project results will also raise the social status of construction workers. Underlining the ethos of construction worker should encourage people to undertake construction courses in vocational schools. Another important issue is Health & Safety. As human life is the most important value, there is a great need of elevating H&S level. IPCIC adheres to the ET2020 framework by developing up-to-date VET ensuring the matching of labour market with skill requirements. It also complies with the initiative of “Opening-up Education” widening access to education through OER (free access to all results) and multiple other EU policies.
The main objective of the project was to improve education in the field of construction, in line with new legal regulations and construction sector trends. To achieve that goal, training system was prepared. It contains knowledge necessary for the finishing works specialists and tutors (mentors), with particular emphasis on efficiency of work and quality of education, H&S regulations, and soft skills. The main subjects were: drywall fitter, plumber and tiler. Project will also help to improve mobility of construction personnel, due to its international content (presentation of practices from participating countries) and multilanguage form (materials prepared in EN, PL, LT and IT and will help users to learn vocabulary specific for finishing works). The project complies with EQAVET requirements and it is foreseen that it should increase quality of didactic process for construction workers education including CPD. The objectives of the project included and after its completion still icludes promotion and improvement of cooperation between construction industry and VET providers, including WBL scheme (that is why one of the partner in the project is a construction company).
The partnership was established to ensure the best quality of results. It consist of VET organizations from Italy, Lithuania, and Poland (SCVAP, VRSC, CKZIU), construction company (ERBUD), professional association (PSMB) and university (WUT).
Target groups of the project: young people, participants of CPD courses, young technicians, construction workers (also those who would like to retrain), stakeholders and associations in the construction sector, SMEs and companies (construction sector); providers of future courses: vocational schools, technical schools (primary and secondary – depending on the national systems terminology);
VET providers, teachers, mentors; construction companies (training departments).
5 intellectual outputs were foreseen and completed: creation of courses programmes, creation of courses methodology, creation of didactic materials, creation of movie materials, creation of materials for teachers training. All the results were presented and tested during a number of multiplier events and dissemination meetings.
They followed by tools supporting project management and implementation and ensuring high quality of intellectual outputs. They provided a thorough overview of project progress, achievements, revisions, and deviations, including delivered outputs and supporting evidence. Operational quality assurance plan consisted of: operational definition of quality assurance and risk mitigation processes and tools (e.g. template forms), partners’ roles, and communication & naming conventions.
Internal financial, dissemination & progress reports were done to ensure proper level of quality, time and cost of the project.
The partnership provided tools and materials for the dissemination of the project activities and outcomes. These results were addressed to transnational audience, in order to inform, promote, and build a solid case for the uptake of outputs by sectoral stakeholders. Please note, that partnership maintains these results after the project contracting time is over.
During multiplier events participants filled the questionnaire for improvement and adjustment of Intellectual Outputs. Participants were be also reached by website, publications, online information and other meetings, etc through cooperation with AEEBC. In long term, the partnership assumes that the IOs will be used globally in countries involved in the project, and in other EU countries.
