Project Summary

The “International Sports Passport” project involved 3 schools:
1. The coordinator primary school with tennis sections from Poland with 30 teachers and 300 students at the age of 7-15.
2. Special school from Turkey with 32 teachers and 95 students at the age of 12-22.
3. Secondary school from Spain with 63 teachers and almost 700 students at the age of 12-16.
Our group was formed after finding out similar problems to be solved and needs to be developed. The problems each school face is the lack of physical activity among its students, the lack of motivation to be fit and live a healthy lifestyle, and the increasing number of Special Educational Needs students present in normal public schools. The partner community also shares the belief that Special Educational Needs students inclusion and integration into society is a crucial factor concerning their health and social competences. Therefore, our main goals of the project were to:
– improve students’ physical activity,
– improve students’ motivation to be more fit and live a healthy life,
– improve P.E. teachers competences in teaching and training tennis, volleyball basketball and football,
– improve teachers competences in teaching Special Educational Needs students,
– integrating Special Educational Needs students to the international partner community,
– improving students and teachers’ communication and social skills,
– promote the Erasmus+ program and the project in local area,
– learning new cultures and traditions.
In order to fulfill our goals we organized:
– 2 International Sports Competition- during each one students who were involved in the events and in the project’s activites in the schools received medals and a cup for the school. What is more, at the end of the project’s work we designed, created and distributed International Sports Passports which were one of the main products of the project to the students involved in the project’s activities.
– seminars for P.E. teachers who learned methods and activities in teaching sports, specifically tennis, volleyball, football, basketball and cooperative activities, in order to improve students’ physical activity. P.E. teachers involved in the project were also responsible for organizing the International Sports Competitions and their effort was rewarded by means of Europass Mobility certificates,
– seminars for all teachers concerning teaching Special Educational Needs students with lessons conducting,
– seminars improving physical activity inside a classroom during compulsory subjects teaching,
– purchase sports equipment, stationary and promotion materials,
– visits to the partner countries involving the International Sports Competitions, healthy food learning, cultural excursions,
– meetings with sports psychologists about healthy lifestyles,
– Erasmus+ conferences for local schools, councils, educational centres.
We successfully met our goals as according to the gathered feedback the students benefited from the project; they improved their physical activity inside and outside the schools, they increased their motivation for being physically active, they are more active during the P.E. lessons and they improved their communication skills thouroughly. As the surveys we conducted present, we also think that the parents increased their attention in living healthy lifestyle and helping their children to live a healthy and active life. Furthermore, as the surveys results suggests, our teachers increased their practical teaching skills, increased their motivation, their management abilities and communication skills. We also establiched a very good and frutiful contact among our partnership and we intend to develop our ideas in the future by means of the new Erasmus+ program. We also helped other schools and institutions together with our local Board of Education in explaining the possibilites Erasmus+ program gives and the details in writing a good application for their project.
