Project Summary

In this project, partners from six European countries created 3 manuals and over 30 situated learning scenarios in order to introduce 3D printing and modern IoT technologies in educational institutions/schools. The project results provide a useful support for teachers and educators to help students to produce their own product and prepare them for industry 4.0. The material considers different methods such as project-based learning, learning by making, teamwork, pairing, sharing, teacher as a partner…
About a thousand students will learn how to design 3D printed prothesis, interactive devices and software.
Therefore the project has a methodology link to the real world. More than 20 teachers and more than 1000 students from all over Europe have been involved and even more will be using the material in the near future. Thanks to the 3 IOs it was possible to push schools and fablabs to create new non-profit societies (eg E-Nable Greece, WeMakers Summer School) or new products with a social intention, such as artifical prosthesis, interactive devices (myoelectric hand, a smart farm, EDA-cubes, direction indicators for cyclists) and software – ready to learn from and for the real world.

All partners of the project met for two transnational project meetings, took part in monthly online calls over three years and came together for three different trainings in three partner countries where they shared their diverse expertise.
