Project Summary
The evolution of society, the different habits of every single family and the influence of advertising are leading to a standardised diet and therefore to the unawareness of our culinary heritage.
Furthermore, considering the spreading of obesity and overweight people, we aim to support our future citizens through a better knowledge of nutritional requirements, according to childcare professionals.
For this initiative, we plan to make the children discover our traditional cuisine and the one of our European partners.
We hope to raise the pleasure of cooking in our students. In order to share their discoveries, the final objective of this project will be the creation of a book containing European recipes. The latter will be intergenerational and accessible to anyone. It will be translated in English and it will stand as the witness of the work conducted with the different partners and as the driving factor to learn an international language, for both students and their families.
With this project, we want to bring our students, future European citizens to think about what they have on their plate. In Europe, do we all eat the same thing? at the same hours? But where does the food we have on our plate come from? Do we all eat our fill? And eating local, what does it mean? Can this have consequences for our planet? What connection can we make with our health? So many questions that we will try to answer together. To do this, we have scheduled meetings between teachers and between students in all partner countries.
Beyond the content, this type of project prepares our students for tolerance, respect for others, the discovery of another culture. It arouses curiosity in our students. It allows you to learn in real life situations, sharing, exchanges and not always through books. It allows our students to develop their critical spirit and to become responsible adults.
Through this initiative we would like to promote the socialisation of our students and their integration in the society and in the European Union.
We would also like to create connections between the partners and give meaning to our educational practice and to the life of our school.
