Project Summary
PROJECT SUMMARY
Our project LEARNING ZONES FOR INCLUSION & EQUALITY (FINELY) was born with the purpose of achieving learning based on inclusion and equity by working in zones (as a future classroom lab) with students from three partner countries in Italy, France, Romania and Spain. Through this exchange, which will take place over a period of two years and with students from fifth grade to tenth grade , we want our students to develop values of tolerance and respect for diversity, that is to say, to be able to walk towards an inclusive education. In addition, we intend to strengthen in our students the development of intercultural skills, the ability to express ideas in different contexts, through the work of emotions, and develop their linguistic-communicative competence through projects with students from other countries.
The exchange between students from different countries will provide a broad and open vision that will encourage a critical and constructive thinking by making contact with other cultures and languages as well as reinforcing the capacity for educational cooperation to improve key skills and competences. In the same way, this activity achieves the knowledge of cultural and historical aspects of other countries in order to value and respect them.
The aim of this activity is to promote equity, social cohesion, active and tolerant citizenship, and well-being by bringing us closer to other cultures, social realities and other countries. It also implies knowing, valuing and strengthening our own heritage as a form of personal and social enrichment.
The main objectives of our project are set out in the following three points:
1. To develop an attitude of openness, breaking down barriers and creating citizens of a European and global society.
2. To reinforce the knowledge of cultural and historical aspects of other countries in order to value and respect them. To promote equity, social cohesion, active and tolerant citizenship, and well-being by getting closer to other cultures, social realities and other countries. It also implies knowing, valuing and strengthening our own heritage as a form of personal and social enrichment.
3. To promote new methodologies based on learning areas. As a centre with all compulsory educational levels, it is necessary to reinforce the passage between levels by creating learning zones based on the development of key competences. We want to reinforce this by exchanging organisation, methodologies and results around these learning spaces created on the basis of skills and abilities and not on the basis of content.
The associated schools specialise in different areas of interest Romania, France,Spain and Italy but all of them work creating learning areas. Romania has years of experience in the mobility of workers and in the assimilation of immigrants. Spain and France have never participated in any EU funded project. Italy and Romania have experience in this. And Spain has teacher with training in future classroom lab.
The four centres will work through different learning areas, so that students will be immersed in a new experience in which they can enhance their skills, through the work of creativity, inclusiveness, emotions, research and intercultural development. The students will live a new experience going through each of these areas in connection with the students from the collaborating countries.
Throughout the project, different innovative methods will be used and different activities will be developed that will be focused around the three main objectives or themes:
– Design of a “Dictionary of Emotions”, through the creation of own definitions. Through this dictionary, each partner country will invent and design a “Super Hero of Emotions”.
-Training and orientation workshop with the centre’s psychologist/orientator.
Role-play, in which students will take different personalities to work on the values of equity and inclusion from different points of view.
-Travel portfolio
-Escape or Gymkhana through the city
– Interviews with famous personalities.
– Creation of a video documenting the visit and its results.
– Radio workshop.
– Elaboration of a digital comic about a historical episode of the country.
– Teachers workshops
-eTwinnig will be used from the beginning creating a COMMON project with the rest of the four participating countries.
-We’ll create our own website with weekly or six where we’ll write a logbook and a follow-up of the project and activities carried out. This website will be shared at eTwinning.
The aim of this project is to ensure that students acquire a global and international vision, soaking up the richness of other realities and cultures of the partner countries. In addition, we will share experiences with centres in other European countries, exchanging results and closely following the impact on students when working in the different learning spaces shared with partner countries.
