The project, which will last for two years, will be attended by 180 students, aged 13-15 (including 100 in mobility) and 110 teachers (10 – outgoing trainings, 40 – accompanying students, 60 – locally, on behalf of receiving schools).
The aim of the project is to: increase key language skills, in English, among 180 students, aged 13-15, and thus improve good and very good grades in English final exams and increase the number of students obtaining min. level B1 from English, in external certification, in every school. This will be possible through implementation of elements of the new CLIL methodology, training of teachers and increasing their competences, wider use of new technologies and TIC tools, in the form of computer games, virtual lessons, teleconferencing, introduction of activating, unconventional methods, motivating techniques, deriving from the treasures of European heritage, creating a situation for joint meetings, actions and dialogue.
The objectives of the project will be met by external actions in the form of: two short courses for teachers in Poland and Portugal: “CLIL in theory and practice” (10 teachers) and four short-term exchanges of student groups in Germany, Turkey, France and Greece (100 students and 40 teachers, as accompanying persons), during which theatrical and musical performances, culinary workshops, field games, meetings at computer corners, in the reportage atelier, additional training of CLIL teachers, interviews with school directors, students, teachers and parents will take place, as well as visits to the local authorities. The mobility shall be supplemented by internal activities of the schools: development of lesson plans and CLIL programs, multimedia presentations, computer games, films from events, workshops on cultural and linguistic diversity, collecting information on the results of final and certification exams in English language, CLIL education for teachers of local schools, promotion, dissemination of results by publishing articles in the press and educational online media, participation in festivals, meetings with authorities, annual teacher conferences.
The international project implementation team (coordinator and five chairpersons), in cooperation with national teams, school headmasters will monitor, as planned, all project activities, providing the best practical and logistical support and full preparation of participants for mobility and internal implementation.
