Project Summary

The “LITTLE EXPLORERS” project has become that globe that every boy and girl looks at and points to places where their imagination takes them, the dream come true, they have traveled to new places far and near at the same time, thanks to our wonderful Europe that has led us to achieve this educational challenge.
This ambitious idea of bringing the world to the educational classroom began its journey in Spain as a Center Educational Project from the 2016/2017 academic year at the College coordinating the Erasmus + project, CEIP NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA PAZ, from its origin it had a marked international character Therefore, the leap to European mobility projects was necessary and above all essential to consolidate and complete its training and educational sense.
Taking into account the three pillars of our project:
-Early school dropout / Combat school failure.
-European citizenship, European awareness and democracy
-Research and innovation.
The main objectives have been:
1. Encourage the development of activities aimed at motivating learning in order to reduce the percentages of school dropouts derived from lack of interest in acquiring knowledge.
2. Consolidation through the Eramus + project of the integration of ethnic minorities and those at risk of social exclusion. Promote equal opportunities between men and women.
3. Involvement of the entire educational community, municipalities, parents, families, companies, social organizations …
4. To obtain the knowledge of a second language that derives in a future academic development within the European scope.
5. Assimilation of the importance of the values associated with European democracies.
6. Use of new technologies and robotics in the classroom through communication between the different countries participating in this project.
7. Knowledge of educational and social realities in different European countries but that share similar characteristics between them.
8. Knowledge of different pedagogy in similar environments used by different European countries to extrapolate them to the realities of the participating centers.
9. Vocation of continuity through maintaining the relationships established between the different participating centers.

The participants have been boys and girls aged 10 to 12 enrolled in the participating educational centers, who have participated in three physical mobilities and one virtual, as well as the 2,075 boys and girls and 265 education professionals who have participated in video calls and activities as a team within the framework of the ERASMUS + project.
The achievement of these objectives has been thanks to a series of activities carried out among the participating centers, such as:
– Collaboration of the entire educational community for the development of activities, in order to involve them in the importance of Primary Education, as well as continuity in Secondary Education.
– Activities in coordination with teachers of the English specialty dealing with various topics: locality, daily customs, great explorers of the country, popular games and typical foods. the activities will be recorded through the etwinning platform.
– Robotics activities practice with Blue Bot, LEGO WEDO.
– Use of computer platforms such as etwinning and tablet applications such as Eduloc.
– Exchanges of activities carried out in each country and virtual mobility caused by the pandemic.
– Continue with collaborative activities after finishing the project.
The methodology used in the execution of the project was based on the agreements in the online meetings and in the mobilities for the distribution of tasks and above all for the realization of evaluation documents, performance and operation of the different objectives of the project.
The media coverage has been very important, especially in the coordinating country where we have appeared in media such as RTVE, ONDA CERO, CASTILLA LA MANCHA MEDIA, ABC, dedicating programs and articles to our project.
In addition, the success of our project has led to our coordinator, Manuel José Carpintero, being awarded as the best teacher in Castilla La-Mancha.
This project has been, is and will be a bridge that we want to continue to unite the participating peoples, maintaining them over time and promoting their continuity, so that, in the long term, it will benefit the entire educational community of the participating schools.
We have overcome a pandemic together in the distance.
