Project Summary
Context / background of the project
Europe should serve as a learning space for young people, according to the European Youth Strategy. Especially for young people and young adults with special needs / NEETs this however, seems to remain a problem area despite great efforts and some adjustment of the european funding program.
At the same time, we are currently experiencing an increasing trend towards Euroscepticism, especially among the target group.
Mobility projects allow foreign experience to be used as an ideal learning space for tolerance and respect towards other cultures. Strengths that young people best acquire today by gaining international experience themselves, experiencing foreignness and diversity positively. They also offer space to experience practical democracy, to get involved and to show themselves.
Aim(s)
The aims of the project are to develop a catalog of methodological settings (1), try them out (2) and to distribute them into the international youth work. This should be done by involving affected young adults in the process.
The catalog should serve as an efficient guide for the arrangement of stays abroad. Projects and supervisors in education, the youth field or in the working world can use these methodical settings in a holistic way to respond to young people with high educational needs and work more purposefully with their non-formal key competences.
Description of activities
• Based on best practice elements from the arrangement of the TN access / preparation / motivation, the shaping of learning environments abroad (learning development) and matching put together, systematize and document.
• The methodically worked-out non-formal learning environments are systematized and didactically processed and described for supervisors and educational staff. The methodical elements should be applied to the working world, in the field of education, as well as in the leisure and activity sector. This is how the method catalog is created
• The target group is actively integrated into our complete project work and they work together and provide input, critical reflection and discussion for our work
• European dissemination of the results is achieved through broad publicity through events and professional networking, and through a web presence that holds all the results multilingually digitized, and which also exists after completion of the project
Number and profile of the participants
About 40 young people with special needs for support and specialists from youth work are involved
Methodology
The project combines development of concepts, with accompanying learning opportunities for the addressed target group and desimination in the specialist circles in the countries of the project partners and additional European countries. In the scientific consideration and development of our project, we adhere to the traditional performance of the methodology.
The methodical elements should be applied to the working world, in the field of education, as well as in the leisure and activity sector. The result allows the professionals to work with the adolescents in a way, which can be specifically and structurally used in a situational way in the field of non-formal learning and personality development.
Expected results and potentially long term benefits
At the end of the project, the following results are expected:
1. Guideline,
2. CONTENT – collection of project examples,
3. Documentary video made by young people guided by professionals and created as their own separate statement on the subject of the application,
4. a successfully conducted social media and media training for adolescents in parallel to the development of the product,
5. in the last project year, a pilot exchange with three countries according to the developed standards,
6. a dissemination and usable web presence and
7. a cooperation network that will continue even after the project has been completed.
The results of the project enable professionals and supporters to work with the adolescent target group in a focused and structured way in the field of non-formal learning and personality development, which can be situationally prompted.
Mobility projects for adolescents with higher educational needs are made possible and made more popular in order to enable young adults with major problems to become more integrated into European society, to raise awareness of democracy issues and to raise awareness and reach the educational and employment markets.
