Project Summary
We are a group of schools sharing the same goals in what concerns our teachers’ professional development through Erasmus partnerships so that we can keep our students’ high expectations and meet their ever-changing needs. These are the reasons for this joint Erasmus partnership: HAPPY SCHOOLS – ENTHUSIASTIC EDUCATION. Our schools have different social and economic backgrounds. However, we have a common objective which is not only to improve the teaching methodologies and approaches but also to foster students’ learning performances. Besides, together we intend to help students get more engaged in their main school subjects so that they can improve their performance and become better prepared to get into the best schools after finishing the current basic educational level.
The project HAPPY SCHOOLS – ENTHUSIASTIC EDUCATION was designed to respond to two basic needs identified at the level of the schools involved: the need to boost students’ learning enthusiasm and engagement which will lead to their school results improvement. Furthermore, one of our project corner stone is the promotion of intercultural dialogue amongst all the direct and indirect participants of this transnational project. We intend to learn from each other, share best practices and, in the long term, include them in our curriculums.
OBJECTIVES
O1 to provide 60 teachers – Languages, Maths, Science, History, Geography and Biology – with professional development through European mobilities within the 2-year project
O2 to increase the level of students’ satisfaction by at least 60% in what concerns teaching to meet children’s needs
O3 to improve the students’ performance and the school results in the target group (at least 30% of students) after the 2 project years
O4 to enable teachers to learn from each other, exchange good practices at European level and be able to innovate by applying them in their schools
O5 to improve the schools’ resources data base with at least 40 sample activities applicable on the main subjects
O6 to enable transnational intercultural exchange amongst teachers and students
O7 to create a network of L.O.V.E. schools which will collaborate after the end date of the project implementing joint follow-up activities ensuring the development of European level cooperation
ACTIVITIES
5 transnational joint-staff training events have been planned:
– C1 – Tablets and the use of mobile applications in class (History) – FR Nov 2019
– C2 – Outdoor activities and the teaching of Geography and Biology – MKApr 2020
– C3 – The use of interactive games in teaching languages – RO Nov 2020
– C4 – Integrating STEAM projects in science lessons – TR Jan 2021

PARTICIPANTS
The 5 planned LTTAs are short term joint staff training events. We will have 125 teachers participating in the different exchanges
The 125 participating teachers will be selected amongst the 180 permanent teachers of the selected subjects in the 5 partner schools.
RESULTS
The project’s tangible outputs are:
– two surveys to measure the level of satisfaction of the students (one at the beginning and one at the end of the project);
– 40 model activities prepared by teachers. These will be applied and tested in the exchanges then, after the exchanges, they will be applied in all partner schools;
– teachers’ communication forum in the eTwinning platform;
– students’ communication forum in the eTwinning platform;
– pictures taken during activities,
– individual partner reports completed after each exchange in which they record all the positive aspects that they observed during exchanges and ways of integrating them in their own schools;
– impact study;
– feedback forms for students for each activity for students;
– blogs created by the students of each partner school;
– Europass Mobility documents which illustrate the acquisitions in terms of participants’ knowledge and skills;
– Certificates of Attendance;
– the project website;
– intermediate and final reports.
IMPACT
The greatest benefit of our schools will certainly the real improvement of all participant teachers’ professional competences as well as their greater motivation. This means that teachers will be able help improve students’ motivation levels and lead them to get more and more engaged in their learning processes valuing education more.
As our project promotes teachers’ frequent communication and meetings, team and collaboration work, they will be able to design and produce a common set of pedagogical materials. This will foster and increase their confidence, improve their level of professional network capacity and give them a real sense of professional belonging.
In the long run, all partnership schools will be able to provide more innovative, meaningful and engaging learning contexts for our students.
