Project Summary
CONTEXT AND PROBLEM
This project aims to promote social inclusion, intercultural dialogue and the empowerment of young people through activities that promote self-knowledge and self-regulation of their own emotions that use innovative and participatory methods inspired by dance. Since the methods are based on dance and movement, the artistic skills of young people are also enhanced. In the formal educational system, there is still given an excessive importance to the rational intelligence of young people, evaluated through quantitative data, ignoring the emotional coefficient and, therefore,the emotional intelligence, contributing to youth social exclusion, especially in those who have less opportunities.
GOALS
General:
Promote social inclusion, equal opportunities and the empowerment of young people, through activities of self-knowledge and regulation of emotions with methodologies inspired by dance, developing key skills and artistic sensitivity, complementary to those employed by formal education and training systems.
Specifics:
1. Enhance intercultural dialogue and promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity, namely through activities that make it possible to know one’s own emotions and recognize them in others;
2. Enhance the creative and artistic spirit of young people through methodologies inspired by dance and activities that provide an artistic product (photographic self-portrait);
3. Contribute to the quality and recognition of youth work through the sharing of good practices, (specially through the Training Course);
4. Create and / or strengthen collaboration networks between organizations active in the field of art, social inclusion and non-formal education;
4. Increase the capacity of organizations (and their technicians) to operate at a transnational level and to implement joint initiatives aimed at promoting participatory, alternative and attractive learning methods.
ACTIVITIES AND PARTICIPANTS
1. Project design, management and preparation and monitoring
– 2 elements belonging to each organization;
– Youth group from each organization: reference number that will be used will be the 10 participants, in which at least 5 will be with fewer opportunities;
2. Transnational meetings
-2 elements belonging to the participating organizations, preferably those with the management and implementation functions of the project.
3. Training Course
– 2 youth technicians from each organization.
4. Local events and Local dissemination events
– Same as activity 1.
5. Blended Mobility
– 1 youth technician from each organization (to monitor and facilitate the involvement and interaction between the young participants) + 4 young people with fewer opportunities from each organization (selected from and by the group of young people with whom the organizations work at the local level).
METHODOLOGY
Basic, participatory, innovative and attractive methodology for the development of socio-emotional skills in young people, which can be adjusted to different territories and social contexts at European level, combining self-knowledge and regulation of emotions with the development of creativity and artistic skills. The preferred methodology in the project will be non-formal education and informal education, as complementary methodologies to formal education.
RESULTS AND IMPACTS
– Basic, participatory, innovative and attractive methodology for the development of socio-emotional skills in young people, which can be adjusted to different territories and social contexts at European level;
– Developing the capacity of participating organizations to design, implement and participate in projects and initiatives at national and / or transnational level, with a focus on art and creativity as a means of developing skills;
