Project Summary

This project was designed for special talented children to be identified at an early stage by their teachers. Our teachers learned with gifted students how to use methods and techniques of transnational education, transfer gifted students the ability to appropriate education for their interest and capacity to them and their families their creativity by giving the necessary consultancy services.
Models applied for gifted students were examined together with our partners abroad, we examined many scales, but we could not publicate all scales in “Ore Book”, only some of them takes place in book because of copyright.A suitable model was prepared for the students.we decided on the most reliable test or tests were implemented for gifted students inTurkey and European transnationally with all partners.As a result, In Teacher’s observation test (Renzulli Intelligence Test) was prepared and implemented firstly in our 5 schools 4283 students.Totally In Turkey,817students out of 4283, In Poland; 19 students out of 109, In Romania; 270 students out of 600, In Macedonia;30 students out of 90 were placed in Early Alert System (EAS) via “teacher’s observation Forms.In next studies EQ test was carried out for these students by psychologist teachers at TapdukEmre. 313 students out of 962 were identified as High rate. The most reliable test was decided transnationally with all partners in the LTT activity.Prof. Elena Ackovska from St. Cyril and Methodius of Skopje was the mentor during 7 days.With Prof. We decided the most useful test as TCT-DP. In the test, 461 students in the 2nd class and 501 students in the 3rd year level were applied and 167 students out of 962 are identified as Above- average creative in Turkey.We had targeted to identify 2500 students in Turkey, fortunately we could reach 4283 students.
Tuzla Public Center,which provided the location of the Intelligence Training Center, according to the gifted students’ preferences, open the required courses.A total of 60 students had been targeted for taken place in IDC.Fortunately, the project was applied very successfully and so, only in Turkey 1149 students, in partners’ country 554 students were discovered and were taken place in IDCs (We provided courses for all students in EAS and volunteers).
As a result of collaborative work with European partners; exchange of good practices were been:1.Inventories to identify gifted students in Europe and Turkey. 2.Support training modules provided to gifted students in Turkey and Europe.we had targeted to train only teachers in 5 pilot schools.Fortunately, the project was applied very successfully and so, 4764 in Tuzla, In partners’ country 312 teachers teachers were trained for the early detection of gifted students by special educators.2 types of inventory development and were used for development screening of students considering the correlation between the two, for students above a certain scale, parent meetings, were held,6950 parents got these seminars , significant differences were held again for inspection.Tuzla Guidance Center, TapdukEmre School’s 5 psychology/counseling teahers,world famous scientists, specialists and experts, pedagogist, career advisers, therapist, university lecturers, academics, psychologist, school counselor etc.provided seminars,workshop, meetings for parents, teachers and students.Teachers learned about innovative teaching methods in LTT activities, thus they could contribute to more qualified learning/teaching situations.
All project partners applied their responsibilities for introduction of the EAS at schools; identification, diagnosis, preparing methods of working with gifted/ talented children; organizing the seminars for parents, workshops for teaching staff.Thanks to the workshops and seminars students were involved into number of tests; IQ tests, EQ tests, Sensory Intelligence tests, how to plan their career after graduating, where to find a safe job abroad how to star up their own business, how to work with gifted and talented students, methods of working with them etc.The students were engaged in a number of contests, quizzes and competition concerning discovering their talents and giftedness. All the project works were disseminated in the local media–radio, newspapers,TV, promoting posters, leaflets etc
Profile of Participants:A- LTT Activities:50 teachers,B- TMs: 40 teachers “Ore Book”, which is the tangible output of the Project, were be published with the cooperation of all the participants.”Ore Book” provides beneficial/practical and useful solutions to the gifted and creates awareness about the necessity and importance of education.The book that includes researches that are made on giftedness in 7 countries(Turkey, Poland, Romania, Macedonia, Finland, Slovakia, Japan) was translated into five languages:English, Turkish, Macedonian, Polish and Romanian.The dissemination has been more effective thanks to “Ore Book” and the sustainability of the Project has been ensured
