Project Summary
This will be an outstanding opportunity for both teachers and pupils in our partner schools to work collaboratively, exchange good practice and share our cultural heritage, thus ensuring inclusion for all and improve practice.
We aim to:
*Embrace our European Core Values
*Help pupils and teachers see themselves as part of Europe and the Global community
*Provide experience to teachers and some pupils to experience another culture and education system first hand.
*Improve the quality of teaching and learning in our schools
*Make the curriculum more relevant and exciting by providing real life experiences and an audience for their work
*We want to motivate pupils and teachers including those who are hard to engage.
*Build on skills for the 21st century, to improve attainment by closing the gap and prepare the pupils for the workplace.
*Improve basic skills including reading and writing
*Improve communication skills
*Improve children’s ICT skills
*Collaborative learning and teamwork on share end products.
*Enhance enquiry skills and knowledge of different countries, cultures and people which will break down barriers to understanding
* Provide real life opportunities to support aspirations and for the children to help improve the local area.
The children and teachers will work through the clearly timetabled and well thought throug, wide range of etwinning activities in the classroom along with hands on experience during the learning, teaching and training events to support this learning and to promote an inclusive curriculum that promotes celebration of their cultural heritage.
Outstanding Inclusion will help to expand teachers’ and pupils experiences through the training programs and etwinning by providing them with better knowledge of education systems in European countries, which in turn will be reflected in the work of teachers improving quality of education for pupils. Teachers will learn about new methods of education, acquire the knowledge to design and deliver an international curriculum which includes children from various backgrounds in education process, improve their foreign language skills and gain computer literacy skills.
Sharing of innovative practice will improve our provision for learners by encouraging mutual respect and understanding of our European cultural heritage and ways to sustain this. Pupils will also improve their skills in literacy, ICT, cooperative learning and languages through collaborating in high quality projects which will also help raise attainment and motivation for learning and to ensure high quality inclusive learning for all.
Through cherishing our cultural heritage, we can discover our diversity and start an inter-cultural conversation about what we have in common.
We are on the search for discovering what’s possible. We look to create ‘eureka moments’ for our students, helping them discover a world of possibilities and opportunities.
“Our cultural heritage is more than the memory of our past; it is the key to our future.” Tibor Navracsics, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport stated in 2017.
