Project Summary
The project “Promoting environmental awareness – introducing a plastic-free day at school” offers pupils aged 15 to 18 from three different countries the opportunity to deal intensively with the topic of environmental protection with a special focus on avoiding the use of plastic in school. The project participants will deal intensively with the consequences of plastics on the environment through expert lectures and will bring this knowledge into schools and put it into practice. They will determine the actual state of plastic use in the individual schools by means of questionnaires or apps they have created themselves, evaluate it, prepare, carry out and evaluate a plastic-free day in the schools. In the long term, all those involved in school – students, teachers, staff in the canteen / cafeteria – should reduce their use of plastic. This is to be recorded in a guideline to be drawn up at the end of the project.
