Project Summary

Project GreenY aims to foster cooperation between countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia, promoting youth-led entrepreneurship for the development of the inclusive green economy. The project will train women youth workers with key competencies and practical skills that promote their entrepreneurial spirit and increase their employment opportunities within the various sectors related to the green economy model. The project will also promote the use of innovative methodologies such as the Lean Startup methodology, as an instrument for the development of dynamic companies within the field of green economy, characterized by greater added value, innovation and growth potential. The development of these capacities will allow women youth workers to be empowered in the face of the challenges of the global context and can be considered as active agents of change within the framework of emerging sustainable development models. In addition, the project will focus on the training of young people belonging to vulnerable contexts and it is expected that as a result of the project the young participants can develop entrepreneurship initiatives within the scope of the green economy in their local contexts that contribute to the development and improvement of living conditions in their communities. The project will be structured in:1. Project management and coordination2. Research, analysis and data collection3. Transnational training meetings for youth workers and staff members in Greece, Mexico and India.4. Local workshops in all participant countries.5. Development of intellectual outputs (guidelines for “gender inclusion in the field of green economy”, handbook “how to develop entrepreneurship initiatives through the Lean Startup methodology in the field of green economy” and e-learning course).6. Development of digital tools (GreenY platform)7. Activities of dissemination, quality assurance and monitoring and sustainability. It is expected that at least 60 Women Youth Workers participate directly in the project, that more than 160 young people take part in one of their activities (E-learning course, local workshop, research, etc.) and that more than 1000 people will indirectly benefit from the results and products of GreenY (New enterprises, guidelines, handbook, platform GreenY), among which are members of the community, stakeholders, professionals, companies, organizations and institution. The project meets the priorities of the Erasmus+ program for the youth field. It promotes the reduction of youth unemployment, aims at the development of business skills, supports the use of innovative methodologies for the development of youth work, promotes non-formal learning and encourages cooperation and exchanges.. It is also in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the European Commission Action Plan for a greener and cleaner economy and the “European Green Deal”.
