Project Summary
For more than 40 years Hochsauerlandkreis and West-Lothian are linked in a regional partnership.
Yet the exchanged only appeared in the exchange about culture and sports.
With the application for PRACTICE (Prospects Research Achievement Competence Training Improvement Challenges Employment) the cooperation will be widened.
It will now also involve the field education and economy.
The applicant is Hochsauerlandkreis.
Partners in the project are West-Lothian-Council, West-Lothian-College, Co-Operative Education Trust Scotland (CETS), Handwerkskammer Südwestfalen, Agentur für Arbeit Meschede-Soest, Berufskolleg am Eichholz, Ruth-Cohn-Schule.
The exchange in several contexts has shown that there is a common theme for both regions in the fields of education and economy: there is a group of youth that needs assistance to access the system of support. They may find it difficult to access education and employment. These youths can be affected by early school leaving.
During the project PRACTICE both regions will focus on this and will share best practice and will develop new common prospects.
Practitioners and leaders from each organization will work together to exchange best practice, to find ways of developing procedures around identifying and supporting students with additional needs into a positive destination, to develop and to enhance existing procedures in both regions during the exchange. All partners will develop and test new work place practice.
Leaders of both regions use transnational meetings for exchange and practitioners of all professions experience the working environment of their colleagues in the partner-region. Joined trainings and the exchange of professional dialogue will promote a greater understanding and opportunity for continued professional development for staff.
The students benefit from this exchange in a number of ways. Their progress will be explored in a way that will inform education, administration and the economy by use of a diagnostic tool. Students will have the chance to experience a range of opportunities ans accrued skills will be certificated.
The content of this application can also be found in other regions of both countries.
Therefor the project will provide a source of information including aims, practice and the results.
