Project Summary

The Paris Agreement signed by the UN countries caused the climate change of the EU targets to be updated and the EU 2030 EU Adaptation Strategy aiming to strengthen Europe’s resistance to the effects of climate change in climate targets,EU countries have found their goals in education and it has set goals such as awareness and what to do to prevent it.Therefore,our partner schools have adopted climate change as the main target.In this context,our project partners applied a climate change awareness survey to students aged 15-18 at IT,PT,EL,LT,TR schools.According to the survey,scientific aspects of students’ climate change,individual studies that can be taken to prevent,climate justice and technology,which examines the aspects of climate that can be improved positively.
The answers are given by the students and the superior features of each partner are as follows:
LTT1-IT-Carbon Footprint,
LTT2–LT-Climate Change,
LTT3-PT-Climate Justice,
LTT4-TR-Climate and Health
LTT5-EL-Technology and Climate as 5 differents topics;which are being studied in each mobility.Also,2 teachers and 6 students are the participants.
Our project includes such targets among the students as getting information about the severity and urgency of climate change, questioning whether everyone is affected by climate change in all European and world countries fairly,investigating the causes of climate change in their countries and offering rational solutions,performing various remarkable and informative activities in schools and their surroundings, examining how technology can minimize climate change, making researches on precautions that can be taken for technology and climate change and environment,developing technologies to address climate change by using their imaginations.Moreover,the awareness towards climate change and world environment-water-soil etc.on certain days when attention is turned into nature,ecosystem and climate;spreading awareness works through media, e-twinning,social media etc. communication channels,arrangement of campaigns such as tree planting, beach cleaning,cooperation with NGOs etc.in their countries will improve.Also,developing methods to combat climate change with technology,investigation of less polluting technology paths,developing new technology ideas to stop or withdraw climate change,putting the dream of developing a technology into a concrete business plan,participation in various sensitivity competitions, national/international projects with the help of teachers will help humanity to minimize, stop climate change.
By projecting the idea of ​​technology development,NGO,municipality,university;policy makers will find support and solutions either willingly or unwillingly.
The project covers web pages,social media,mobile application,workshops,environment within the framework of the dissemination plan.Partner schools are expanded with collaboration,conferences,seminars,clubs to create the effects and utilities of the project.Also,in every country,under the title of LTT, each partner organizes an excursion and research tripor visit in the city.
They are examination of recycling centers and individual precautions for carbon footprint measurement and reduction studies,physical situation of an agricultural land and livestock area affected by climate change,examining the work of an internationally working Civil Society Organization to question climate justice,a hospital visit to examine the effects of climate change on health and to increase its growth by years,a visit to a technical university where they will seek solutions to climate change and sharing ideas with expert teachers.
Project outputs affect students,teachers,school and external stakeholders in various ways.For the assessment and evaluation,tools such as observation,questionnaire,scale,rubric tests are used.
Students will be individuals knowing the EU 2030 climate change targets,being a conscious and responsible youth,finding a solution to climate change when joining the workforce and gaining 21.century critical thinking,collaboration,imagination,project-based work,information literacy,leadership and developing skills such as responsibility,academic and humanistic development,multilingualism and development of respect for different cultures.
As for teachers our targets include willingness to participate in climate and environmental projects and EU projects,revising curricula with climate change content.The school will have effective recall of certain days related to climate and nature,cooperation in the number of in-school and out-of-school activities.Reaching and implementing Strategic Plan objectives is crucial among participating institutions,NGOs, internal and external stakeholders;External stakeholders will have cooperation in the search for a common solution to the common problem of the European Union, improved relationship and cooperation with the school,application support for student ideas and project outcomes; shows the project success.
