Project Summary

The main aim of the project that we, as 5 participants, are planning to carry out, is to bring up two-winged children who can keep up with fast growing technological advances and find solutions to social problems besides having global moral virtues. One of the other important goal is to equip our students with necessary qualifications and prepare them for jobs of future. All these targets can be achieved with individuals who not only produce, control, change, develop and use all the information they have for the humanity but also examine model practices in person, detect examplary ones and reconcile prominent features of different cultures with local values by filtering them through their own perspective. With this in mind, schools working on open source code applications of future technology that will let us find solutions to the problems in order to make our lives easier are included in the project. These sources consist of 3D printers, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Codable LEGO sets and maker practices. The reason these materials are chosen is that they give user the opportunity of coding according to his/her needs and present so many options. In the project, each school specialize in a different technology and convey the knowledge to the participants during LTT activities. Afterwards, these experiences are shared with the students of participants’ countries by beneficiaries. Educational activities will be carried out as the workshops during which groups of learners take part actively and associated with global values like Democracy, Honesty, Dijital Literacy, Respect and Environmental Sensitivity . At the same time, presentations, publications, researches and meetings related with STEM approach and professions of future will be included to raise awareness of children who are equipped with technological abilities and to make them use their skills for the sake of humanity. The partners will join the LTT activities with five students and two teachers whose mission is to make use of their experiences and share them with others in their schools. Apart from LTTs, processes regarding questionnaires, logo designing, project corner and exhibitions will create a positive impact on students, families, teachers and schools nearby paving the way for the formation of positive school perception. In terms of lessons, applied practices bring a different perspective while pushing the limits of creativity with an increased interaction between different disciplines and let us take a concrete step towards STEM approach. Instead of using traditional curriculum, progressive methods of teaching under the guidance of active and innovative teachers who both experience other cultures and adopt universal values, will give rise to an understanding in which eco friendly individuals raise questions and produce solutions. The initiative that we think will have positive effect on language learning, will raise interest in English, answer the question “why we have to learn foreign languages?”. At the same time, it is aimed to create an efficient sharing environment in which members interact with each other by taking part in the activities carried out on the e-twinning project page. As the partner schools have heterogeneous structure, disadvantaged students’ active participation who do not have access to the opportunities that the project offer is of vital importance. Although these schools’ resources are enough to achieve objectives of the project, they will be able to operate more comprehensively thank to the experiences gained during the process. Moreover, people’s approaches to cultural differences, viewpoints of innovations and expectations from school are expected to be effected radically not only at the school level but also locally in terms of related stakeholders. The results of all workshops, studies and applications aimed at starting the change mentioned before at all levels of society will be shared with public in order to light the way for the planned activities in the future.
