Project Summary

Whatever the country, politicians, media and our society in a whole tell us more and more about pollution challenges and global warming. Our pupils are particularly sensitized by these multidimensional questions coming from all over the world. They understand that if they don’t bite the bullet there won’t be enough concrete actions in their close surroundings, in their country, in Europe… on the planet!
For several weeks, we observe a wide mobilisation of the youth in many countries. And the adults, ordinary people, support and join them because they feel the importance of a radical modification of our habits. A “B planet” doesn’t exist and the climatic urgency needs to be declared!
During their job-shadowing session in Estonia last year, Belgian teachers and Headmasters discovered partners who already operated a deep mind-shift and implemented citizenship campaigns to improve the situation and make their direct environment cleaner and more sustainable. All the partners of RGPC want to make their students/pupils responsible citizens, able to contribute to the development of a better society, living on a safer and more convivial planet.
Questioning their anciens, the pupils will define new roots that should help them to draw future positive comportments and habits. Education is the most efficient tool to reach these objectives and that’s why our schools decided to work together, to visit each other to exchange good practices, to observe new scientific programs and to question politicians by means of a manifest resuming their wishes, their ideas and sustainable plans for their region, country… planet.
Their participation to RGPC will help our school communities to improve their European citizenship, to exchange about their cultural roots and develop common actions to face tomorrow’s reality.
Our partnership is made of 3 schools implanted, 2 in a small rural city in the South of Belgium and the 3rd one in a city Making the border between Estonia and Latvia. These specificities will feed and enrich a larger reflexion, giving the stakeholders more reasons to Believe in the future.
The idea comes from the Belgian schools. They’re now facing a new challenge in education : transfom the primary and secondary levels into a common core of education, like the one existing in Estonia. This project should also help them to improve the pupils fulfilment, the professional development of the staffs, to reduce drastically pupils drop-out and teachers burn-out, and to improve basic competences in languages, sciences/maths and digital skills.
By granting such a project, Europe will help making everyone more autonomous and responsible. A chance for our planet !
