Project Summary

The goal of the project was in line with the priorities of strategic partnerships for the school education sector. The main activities were aimed at supporting teachers working with diverse groups of students, above all migrants, as well as undertaking cooperation with parents of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The objectives of the project were also in line with the Paris Declaration in the field of developing social, civic and intercultural competences, combating discrimination and segregation, as well as measures reducing disparities in the learning outcomes of people coming from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The aim of the project was also to establish strategic cooperation between three organizations involved in education of children and youth at the gymnasium and high school stage. These institutions are dealing with a student in a special situation: foreigners who for various reasons (mainly family and economic) have decided to study in Poland or young people representing a national minority in their countries of residence. The partnership is created by the Polonia High School from Poland, an association supporting Polish schools in Lithuania and an association that runs a Polish school in Hungary. The direct recipients of the project were teachers, middle school and high school students as well as their parents.
As part of the task, outline and maths, business and history lesson plans and numerous didactic materials were created – rebuses, crosswords, games including online and urban games that support the education process for both teachers and students.
A guidebook for parents and students who want to start education abroad has also been developed. These are informational materials that will comprehensively prepare a young man in middle school and high school age to study and start living abroad. It has been published in three languages in Polish, Russian and English, and it contains the full path of dealing with the student – from the idea of learning abroad to come and support long-term adaptation process, information package for student and parent and assumptions for support programs “Family guardian “. Migration for learning is not only about the student, very often his whole family. The activity was directed directly to students and their parents.
