Project Summary

The project proposal was designed to follow the identified needs at the organisational, national and regional levels.
The World’s population is rapidly growing, and as a result, food demand is expected to increase by as much as 98% by 2050. World Economic Forum has recently underlined how much food systems are relevant to all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Euromonitor International published a report there is one of the key findings is that a new “Fresh Food Economy” is emerging.
Understanding modern trends the partners are willing to share their rich experience to contribute to empowering rural women and enhancing rural development.
RWSFF targets social inclusion and enhances access for disadvantaged learners, such as rural women, small-scale farmers who are located in less-favoured areas, feeling social exclusion and limited market entry due to lack of entrepreneurial skills.
THE AIM
To contribute to rural women’s empowerment by encouraging new trends “Fresh Food Economy” and agricultural entrepreneurship, as well as additional farm-related segments of the rural economy, contributing to generating income and employment, taking into account the adaptability of methods and technologies to meet local conditions in each partner’s country.
THE OBJECTIVES
To put in place a sustainable process of empowerment and self-initiative of rural women (involved in agriculture or the agriculture supply chain) which will continue to evolve after the project’s completion.
To promote the consumption of local and quality food from small producers.
DIRECT PARTICIPANTS
40 rural women who face geographic and economic obstacles
80 rural women who are involved in agriculture or the agriculture supply chain
8 facilitators/educators belonging participating organisations
220 persons in dissemination events
The estimated number of indirect users is approximately 4000.

Duration of the project is 24 months and contains 3 stages.
It includes 3 Transnational Meetings, 4 Multiplier Events and the short-term joint staff training even.
Stage 1: November 2019 – July 2020
The focus is on building the network, preparation of Online Platform and local work.
– Preparatory and Preliminary research
– A range of events with rural women (meetings, discussions) and raise awareness interest for participation
– Startup the Network of Women from Rural Communities (NWRC) and formulation accompanying documents
– Creation of the Platform Community Access to Fresh Foods
Stage 2: August 2020 – April 2021
The focus is on developing ToT, the incentive for greater involvement in NWRC and working on Online Platform, local work and promotion of local fresh food.
– Publication of Guide Access to Fresh Foods
– Production of structured RWSFF Training of Trainers Course with 4 modules
Stage 3: May – October 2021
– Implementation in practice RWSFF Training of Trainers Course through C1 for adult educators
– Running a Pilot RWSFF Training engaging a group of 10 rural women in each partner country
At all project time, activities also include:
– Joint online work, an operation of each partner on a local level and cooperation to the achievement of the results
– Enlargement and implementation NWRC by an attraction of stakeholders

– Informing and communication
– Capacity building and networking – Communication with stakeholders

– Dissemination and exploitation
EXPECTED RESULTS
1. Rural women increased knowledge about new trends “Fresh Food Economy” and agricultural entrepreneurship
2. Effective practical solutions designed to help women in rural areas who are small food producers
3. Improved access to nutritious, fresh foods for all citizens by promoting health, protecting the agricultural assets and natural resources
4. Improved competencies and upgraded the skills of adult facilitators/educators belonging to community groups and grassroots organisations
5. Successful dissemination of project results that are available for use throughout Europe
Envisaged significant positive results in terms of rural women:
– Newly acquired or reinforced key competences
-Increased abilities to planning, development, and management of small businesses in agro-industries
– Increased opportunities for getting income, self-employment and employability thanks to the relevant skills gained
