A sustainable urban mobility plan is a tool that helps to achieve the goals of limiting climate change and energy emissions set by European governments.
The Urban Mobility Action Plan (2009) and the White Paper on Transport (2011) include sustainable urban mobility plans as a planning tool to cope with critical issues in urban areas and transport system problems and they are designed with a view to integration and sustainability. For this reason, the SUMP is part of the political agenda of the European Commission and the Member States.
They provide for the involvement of citizens and stakeholders in coordinating plan instruments on the sectors of interest (transport, environment, urban development, economic activities, social services, health, safety, energy, etc …) and local authorities operating on the territory at different levels and cooperating with local authorities and stakeholders in neighboring areas.
GOALS
The main objective of the project is to build guidelines and toolkits to form the FIGURE of the School Mobility Manager in order to give him the tools to operate in his own context.
The GENERAL OBJECTIVE of the partnership is to help to innovate and improve the organizational management of educational institutions through a contribution to the implementation of the figure of the “SCHOOL MOBILITY MANAGER”. For this reason, the partnership comprising 4 countries (ITALY (IT), AUSTRIA (AT), FRANCE (FR) and SLOVENIA (SI)), coordinated by ITET G. Caruso (IT) was TRANS-SECTORAL and TRANSNATIONAL since it took into account and benefited, both from the positive experiences developed at a European level in the context of corporate and / or institutional mobility management, and those related to school mobility management and has come to identify and define a specific operational model to be disseminated at regional and transnational level through the partnership and defining shared training content for the SCHOOL MOBILITY MANAGER experienced and disseminated both with the school staff involved in the partnership and at a wider level in the involved national contexts.
