Project Summary
Within the framework of the submitted project, the ambition is to implement activities that will contribute to the fulfillment of selected priorities focused on the individual educational needs of children from disadvantaged regions. By acquiring key language competencies and developing basic manual, digital skills and media literacy for these children, we want to contribute to improving the quality of their education and to develop opportunities to learn or work in other European countries.
The main activities of this project, realized during the mobility of pupils and teachers between partner schools, are mainly cooperation on assignments on the theme of the South Hungarian Slovak life, preserved traditions and prominent personalities.
Participation in the project is for pupils aged 10-14 from two partner schools – secondary school in Jelšava from Slovakia and Slovak Két Tanítási Nyelvu Általános Iskola és Óvoda from Hungary. 40 pupils and teachers from partner schools will participate in both mobilities, and we plan to involve approximately 300 participants in the accompanying events during the project duration. Regarding the cooperation on the submitted project, we will address local cultural organizations from both regions: the Municipal Museum and the Center for Visegrad Culture in Jelšava, the civic association Jelšavanka, active pensioners, folklorists, volunteers of YMCA, members of the Slovak Komlos Organisation , Komlos Folklore Association.
The results of the project will be measurable on the basis of the outputs of the assigned tasks, in the solution of which students from the addressed partner schools will participate together.
Based on the study of historical sources, their tasks will be to create an information panel with a map of Slovaks moving from Middle Gemer to the Lower Land in Hungary with a reference to important Slovak personalities working in the Lower Land. The support and development of students’ artistic skills in the field of dramatization and presentation of folk art is the organization of dance workshops, which will be focused on practicing our folk dances and dances of lowland Slovaks. Our students and students from the partner school have experience with theater production. Their participation in the show of theater ensembles in Sarvaš is a motivation for them in the further development of their ambitions.
– to create a publication focused on traditional gastronomy from both regions of the partner schools of Hungary and Slovakia.
– to obtain methodological materials for the creation of a methodological manual regional education – to implement regional education into the school educational program The specific objectives follow the traditions and common past of the participating partner schools, which map the life of the Lower land Slovaks in Hungary.
