Project Summary

CONTEXT IN WHICH THE PROJECT HAS BEEN RUN:
The European Union reminds us that the acquisition of key competences is necessary to help people achieve a whole personal, social and professional development in accordance to the demands of a global world, so during running the project all schools have had in mind these values. In this way all partners schools have provided within the implementation of the project a cross curricular, dynamic and comprehensive knowledge.
Using cooperative work with all the schools involved in the project all the participants have reached their best, taking into account their individual differences. So we have always had in mind the four principles behind cooperative team work:
Positive interdependence.
Individual accountability.
Equal participation.
Simultaneous interaction.
SCHOOLS’ PARTICIPANTS
We have been four schools associated in this project. As we knew each other from previous Comenius projects and the contact had been maintained after their finalization, we knew that all of us had the same objectives in mind and were able to contribute with new experiences and good practices within the project. So under our point of view was a good idea to launch a new project considering our previous experiences in common and we analyzed at the end of it that we have had a successful one after evaluating all tasks done in cooperation with the others.
This has been a school project, not an individual one. So the whole schools communities have been involved in it: team managers, teachers, parents and, of course, the students, as all aims were set for them. All schools set up at the beginning of the project how the different members of schools communities were going to take part in it.
OBJECTIVES:
Our objectives with this association were:
The achievement of high quality skills and competences using a variety of activities and techniques (a more European approach). In this way we have done activities taking into account the main key competences established by the European Union among all its members. Activities focus on improving learning and above all encouraging our students to learn to learn. All key competences have been worked in different ways. All schools have always made their students to be the main characters of their own learning.
Inclusive learning, paying attention to different learning styles, and pupils´ interests have been our interest while running the project: how all schools manage differences between students and one mobility focus on how to face special needs students from a educational point of view. So we have fostered how to improve new methods while working in inclusive classrooms. We have provided our students with different tools to lead their lifelong learning (if we have a look to the tasks done) and also making their learning more applicable to real life.
We have also fostered the exchange of good practices and methodologies between teachers of different countries.
ACTIVITIES:
Those made by all the schools in cooperation and using a collaborative approach.
Those made by teachers during the mobilities. Including training activities about innovative teaching that contribute the developing of teachers´ professional competences.
METHODOLOGY:
All partner schools have collaborated in the same way in all the tasks as team members, co-authors and co-creators.
All the work done has been based on the schools´ curriculum. We have discussed and put in place a variety of pedagogical methods: comparative work, information gathering, collaborative work, research and analysis of different approaches…
RESULTS:
We have discovered new methodologies to use while teaching at the same time our students have improved their learning while approaching to different ways of facing the key competences, we could say that in a more active way.
The results are in accordance to our objectives:
Improve pupils´ whole development, their motivation and their achievement of key competences.
Favor teachers´ professional development through the exchange of good practices.
IMPACT:
The impact has been outstanding taking into account that all schools communities have been involved in the project. We all have had something to learn from our European fellows, and now we are able to implement that learning into our lives and into our schools.
Other institutions and teachers throughout Europe have the possibility to use the project products and outcomes as they will be at their disposal in different languages.
LONGER TERM BENEFITS.
In this project we have been focused on youngsters, trying to help them discover and foster their potentials in Europe and make it more accessible as sometimes Europe is seen too far in small cities. We also wanted to show them the benefits of international cooperation towards a better society.
The skills we have gone through with all the activities done can be used in other fields and are long-lasting and the schools have a closer approach to Europe.
