Project Summary

The project “Stop the Bully – Developing Youth Capacities for Anti-bullying Work” is a Civil Society Fellowships for Youth project with a duration of 24 months. It involves 6 partner countries and organisations: – AZERBAYCAN MAARIFCI GENCLER TESKILATI ICTIMAI BIRLIK, AZ – GENERAL DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION, YOUTH AND SPORT, MD – GEORGIAN YOUTH FOR BETTER FUTURE, GEO – STICHTING DIGG OUT, NL – SEIKLEJATE VENNASKOND, EE – EURO SUD, IT The proposal aims to build local cross-sectoral networks against bullying through capacity development programme for youth organisations and youth workers and an intensified cooperation with public stakeholders, the community and formal educational institutions. In order to reach this overall aim, the project is targeted at three highly interlinked objectives. – To strengthen organisational capacities on anti-bullying work through the competence development of young leaders and youth workers in addressing bullying among young people through an educational peer-to-peer approach – To raise public awareness about bullying as a challenge for young people on community level – To establish local partnerships between civil society organisations, local authorities and schools for mainstreaming an anti-bullying approach at local level The project includes the following activities: 1.1.1 International training course on bullying (fellowship programme) 1.1.2 Job-shadowing for young community leaders on anti-bullying work (fellowship programme) 1.2.1 Development of an educational manual for anti-bullying work 1.2.2 Creation of an on-line resource platform for anti-bullying work 1.2.3 Training of trainers for youth workers on anti-bullying work 2.1 Social media campaign against bullying 2.2 Public debates on bullying 3.1 Series of round table meetings for an anti-bullying policy on local level 3.2 Local workshop on anti-bullying work 3.3 Seminar on cross-sectoral cooperation on anti-bullying strategies The participants of the fellowship programme design and lead the campaign, public debates, round table meetings and the local workshops as their youth engagement project following their participation in the fellowship programme. Project results include: – 106 young leaders, youth workers, educators have increased their competences in anti-bullying work and enlarged their local and international network – At least 15 international follow-up activities are planned to ensure an on-going international exchange of practise and experiences – The educational manual and the online platform for sharing expertise, project examples and concrete methods and methodologies on anti-bullying work are created and reached out to at least 2250 users – At last 780 young people, parents and various youth stakeholders have been reached by local outreach activities on raising awareness about bullying – At least 6 local cross-sectoral partnerships countering bullying were established – At least 20000 people have directly been reached by the campaign
