Project Summary

STRAPAC project was tailored to 70 service staff of religious communities and professionals in theology from poor regions/rural areas (such as religious leaders priests, deacons, monks, sisters, workers in administration of religious communities, religious teachers, etc.), 10 members of each partner’s organizations, 1000 active members of religious communities, 10000 other interested stakeholders, and finally to 100 people in need who will be directly and indirectly involved in the project activities or will benefit from its results. STRAPAC main objectives are: to help service staff/religious professionals belonging to religious communities located in poor regions and rural areas to develop basic competences and transversal skills, such as entrepreneurship, communication, and leadership skills, which will help them to tackle social exclusion more effectively and to improve their work with vulnerable groups of people such as disabled people, refugees, migrants, Roma people and other marginalized communities; to help representatives of religious communities from regions at grass root level and rural areas to enhance their multicultural skills to better cope with people with different cultural, ethnic or religious background and to increase their ability to hold inter-religious dialogue; to enhance the digital integration of learning through development of innovative on-line training tools to support reducing disparities in learning outcomes affecting learners from disadvantaged backgrounds; To create a strategic partnership network of representatives of communities with different religious and confessional background and to strengthen the cooperation between the participating organizations through exchanging of experience and good practices, which will help them to increase their capacity to develop new approaches for skill development.
The project involved an appropriate mix of complementary participating organizations with necessary profile and experience to successfully deliver all project aspects. STRAPAC project will be led by Center for dialogue between sciences and theology-University of Craiova (Romania) in partnership with Fondatsiya za regionalno razvitie (Bulgaria), Gal del Ducato (Italy), two recognized universities – Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), and MF – Norwegian school of Theology (Norway). STRAPAC project is built upon the following major phases: Preparatory phase; Project management and monitoring; Implementation phase; Communication and dissemination of project intellectual outcomes and major results and achievements and closing phase. To assure better management we plan to organize four transnational meetings between the partners. STRAPAC’s major intellectual outcomes are: field studies in the five countries involved in the partnership and aiming to analyse the current work of local religious communities and to collect good practices in educational and social field; documentary film with training purposes; an open on-line learning tool, that will offer innovative on-line high-level courses to any representative of the target group, including disabled people, who want to learn; on-line training guide for representatives of religious communities acting in marginalized regions and rural areas. STRAPAC intellectual outcomes will be disseminated before target groups and other stakeholders during a closing conference that will be held in Norway. Four blended mobilities for target groups will be held in Italy, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, aiming to allow the participants to acquire new skills and knowledge. STRAPAC project will establish long-lasting partnership, which will create positive environment for future collaboration. It will have a very positive impact on the target groups directly and indirectly involved in the project. It will increase their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, their motivation and their understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity. It will help improving levels of skills for employability and new business creation, competences to better work with diversified group, which will help them to build the future of their organizations, churches and faith communities in which they serve. Indirect target groups are people with fewer opportunities, which will be actively involved in the project. The project aims to facilitate their integration in the society and to better cope with their everyday problems. STRAPAC project is likely to have a positive impact also on stakeholders indirectly involved in the project, which can applied the lessons learned in their everyday work
STRAPAC project will be implemented for 30 months.
