Project Summary
In modern society there is a tendancy to decrese important values such as friendship, empathy and tolerance. In our project we would like to give students opportunity to know people from other countries and create positive attitudes towards other nations.
There is a group of five schools of primary level with similar problems. All of them are connected with low-income families’ situations, lack of motivation and lack of families’ support. The schools use different ways to solve the problems and help the students and their families. Active participating in this project can be another tool to fight with social exclusion. The objectives are: promoting values, encouraging students to study more and build their self-confidence, developing creativity and basic skills: writing, reading, ICT, languages, enterprise, ability to self-organise students’ free-time in the most beneficial way, getting knowledge about one’s background (family, town, country) and culture of other partners, respecting the others cultural heritage. The main result will be the game made by each partner. It can also be a perfect tool to achieve our goals. That is why, working on this project we create the characters, the world of the game and its plot and rules. The additional products related to the game are: the travel guide book and video, trailer, leaflets, posters. We organise some events in which values are promoted through games. During creating the final game we will practice various abilities using different methods: team work, reading and writing comprehension, craftwork and art. To exchange the information and share the ideas the schools use eTwinning platform. Long-term benefits for the students will be increase of motivation, self-esteem, tackling early school leaving and changing their ways of thinking due to cooperation among the countries.
