Project Summary

The project we are presenting next is called “Thinking about Black and betting on for equality” and it is set within the educational field, especially Vocational Training, and it has to last for 24 months.
The main goal of our project is the implementation of innovative practices, mostly the application of techniques of Black theatre with Vocational Training students, and students with needs to be developed on collectives of dependent people or with disabilities.
Inclusion is going to be one of our priorities in the project, since the final result of the proposed activities is focused on collectives of dependent people, with some disabilities or people socially excluded, to feel more integrated into society thanks to the experiences that vocational students have given them as innovative tools in Black Theatre.
There is evidence that implementing these techniques can benefit both students and users, both the necessary formation to be used and the activities and skills participants should develop.
Besides, the fact that the application of these innovative techniques are being developed within a cooperation framework, peer learning and by means of an exchange of experiences with other European centres which may greatly increase the benefits among its participants.
In the project, Eduardo Primo Marqués highschool will be the coordinator. The initiative of this project arose from this centre which has already got specific formation and previous experience on the application of Black Theatre even though not on the primarily focused collectives of the project.
Therefore, it will be this centre that will offer its partners the first activities which will consist of forming the other partners in the techniques related to Black Theatre. Later on, the different partners will implement the techniques with their students in their own countries, a meeting with students will take place in order to share the work they are doing and finally there will be an exhibition of the final result of everything which has been worked on during the last two years that the project will last. This final activity will help evaluate the work done.
In this project there are 5 centres participating: 1 from Spain, 2 from Portugal, 1 from Greece and 1 from Turkey. All of them are centres related to vocational and highschool students and adults. The fields of formation they offer are various, but all have one thing in common: students with needs of at-risk situation such as students with disabilities, immigrant students at risk of social exclusion, refugees, illiterate people, students with very low income….One of the centres from Portugal and the Spanish centre offer specific formation to students who will work with these collectives. These latter ones will implement this work methodology in a real working environment.
The methodology used to perform this project consists of a wide variety of activities which help the participants learn the theatre techniques and personal abilities as well as professional and transversal to apply them later with dependent collectives with disabilities or socially discriminated. For that purpose, it is particularly important to get this knowledge and skills and also to get it in an environment of international cooperation placing these projects in real situations, increasing the participation in a very active way in society. They should appreciate the importance that the European environment offers them, in their current and future formation.
What’s more, the participants will improve their digital skills and linguistic competence in other languages through the online and onsite relationships with other partners of the project.
We would like that all they learned wouldn’t be just an isolated experience of the project but an acquired formation and that all materials elaborated by the different countries could be used as their own material and could be also be transferable to other vocational centres, organisations of dependent or disadvantaged collectives that want to put into practice these techniques in their working places.
The result of the project will be permanently available by means of different tools such as webs, social nets, etwinning links……to be used when they consider to the open public.
