Project Summary

The TIME@Net project aimed at promoting Social and Work Inclusion, Active Citizenship and participation to Learning among a target group at high risk of social
exclusion: young people with intellectual disabilities, starting from the evidence of a cross-cutting difficulty at EU level in the field of training and work inclusion
paths addressed to the mentioned target that could be effective, leading to a continuous and satisfactory employment for them.
The objectives of the TIME@Net Project were the following:
–the creation and test of a model for planning and implementing training and inclusion pathways targeted to young people with intellectual disabilities, developed
and structured under a closer collaboration between the training, educational and social sectors, together with companies and with their active participation during
the whole process;
the creation and test of a model of pilot course for training agencies and work inclusion staff in order to support them in elaborating, promoting and implementing
effective interventions, including the continuous and active involvement of the employing companies;
-the development of strategic competencies of the personnel trained in order to achieve the integration between the various organisations, to detect the labour
market needs and train the final target in relation to them;
-the development of employment opportunities for persons with disabilities;
-the exchange of best practice among the partnership in order to promote process of Learning of persons with disabilities, aimed at fostering their job insertion;
-make effective projects and activities targeted to disabled;
-make the models and tools usable, reproducible and useful at EU level for public and private organisations of training and education;
-the collection of recommendations useful to support effective policies for work inclusion of disadvantaged;
-the creation of a network that provides a forum/platform for joint reflection and European co-operation in identifying and promoting innovation and best practice in
the project’s field.
The above mentioned objectives have been reached through the realization of the following actions/activities:
-realization, as first preliminary step, of the “Reserarch at a transnational level in the frame of young people with intellectual disability work inclusion”, which gave
the opportunity to collect useful recommendations to support effective policies for work inclusion of disadvantaged and lay the foundations for creating a network
at EU level for joint reflection and European co-operation in identifying and promoting innovation and best practice in the project’s field;
-creation of a “TIME@Net Model” through the realization of the TIME@Net Handbook, to develop training and work inclusion plans implemented with a close
collaboration between the training, educational and social sectors and the active involvement of the companies;
-realization of a 30 hours Pilot Course where 12 professionals working in the work inclusion staff of the 6 partner countries took part. The course was realized to
test the “TIME@Net Model” and support professionals in elaborating, promoting and implementing effective interventions, including the continuous and active
involvement of the employing companies. The participants had the opportunity to acquire strategic competencies to achieve the integration between the various
organisations, to detect the labour market needs and train the final target in relation to them;
-the realization of 6 Work Inclusion Plans by the professionals trained during the Pilot Course with the aim of promoting the process of Learning of persons with
disabilities, aimed at fostering their job insertion and developing concrete employment opportunities for this target group, thus making the interventions effective;
-the European “dimension”, thanks to a solid partnership made by public and private institutions directly involved in the field of education, VET and interventions
targeted at disadvantaged persons in their respective European context, which allowed to make the models and tools usable, reproducible and useful at EU level
for public and private organisations of training and education.In addition to the results listed in the sections “intellectual outputs”, “multiplier events” and “learning, training, teaching activities” project’s results can be
summarized as follow:
– a change of perspective on interventions for young people with intellectual disabilities
– a comparison at EU level between representatives of different institutions that allowed to achieve comparable languages and criteria in relation to training and
work insertion systems for the target group
– a closer cooperation between training agencies, educational services and companies
– implementation of actions in order to EU Council guidelines and recommendations, especially:
–research useful to achieve targeted approaches for vulnerable and low skilled employers (including persons with intellectual disabilities)
—an essential contribution to the anticipation of needs in terms of skills, provision of services for economic growth and employment.
–fostering equity, social cohesion and active citizenship
–a concrete contribution for an innovative education for disadvantaged groups
–development of a closer cooperation between training agencies and employees
–acceleration in learning processes targeted to special persons in order to ET2020
–promoting the exchange of good practices and the cooperation within the field
–improvement concerning to meet the special learning needs of a specific target at high risk of exclusion: young people with intellectual disabilities.
-realization of a permanent transversal network and a website that promotes exchange of information, good practices and critical factors for the development and
implementation of innovative approaches towards the learning process for the young, especially for low-skilled young, disadvantaged and marginalised citizens
-development and updating of the competencies of the educationalist involved
-involvement of companies for the inclusion of disabled people
-construction of sustainable and feasible interventions projects (10 users per country)
-production of guidelines, models, handbooks recognized at European Level.
