Project Summary

PROJECT SUMMARY

Five schools form the school exchange partnership „Today as Intersection of Yesterday and Tomorrow“: The New Middle Schools of St. Georgen/Gusen and Mauthausen (Austria), the Istituto Comprensivo Empoli Est and Ovest, and the Istituto Comprensivo Statale „Don Carlo Frigo“ from Cogollo del Cengio (Italy). Building on past jointly initiated school exchanges, the schools aim to develop further their international work at school and the mutual work through exchange of experiences through the Erasmus+ project. Modules on the topic „digitalization an human rights“, as well as history oft he twentieth century were designed together. The schools bring in their own ressources.

The project comprises two meetings of the involved teachers in Mauthausen and Empoli, and three school exchanges between Empoli – St. Georgen and Cogollo – Mauthausen. At the school exchanges, following modules are implementet:

Module 1: History and Media
Module 2: Looking back to move on
Module 3: History as a place of learning

Accompanying preparational lessions and workshops take place in the run-up, among them theater, language and history courses. The parents are involved in form of host families and parents meetings.

The project enables all adolescents of one class to take part in the programme and thereby actively eliminates barriers and decreases disadvantage of socially underprivileged students. The schools exchange themselves about their individual educational potentials. The teachers and the students can get to know them as well in praxis during the modules and the meetings. The schools can therefore learn from each others experiences.

The project is an enrichment for students and the results enter sustainably into the repertoire of the schools. The online documentation ensures that the results are shareable.
