Project Summary
The Globalization has increased the inequality between people and in European schools increased the number of pupils with fewer opportunities,faced with different obstacles,being predisposed to social exclusion.
The countries from this partnership have a complementary role in achieving the project objectives:
-Romania has experience in school-family cooperation;
-Spain applies innovative student-centered methods;
-Greece has experience in reducing social exclusion by non-formal methods;
-Portugalia has extensive experience in European projects.
All partners have pupils with fewer opportunities, and in partnership, Greece and Portugal are examples of good practice.
General objective:
Promoting cross-border cooperation between pupils and teachers from European countries and sharing good practices aimed to strengthening the European dimension of participating schools and increasing social inclusion by at least 4% of fewer opportunities pupils in the target group.
Concrete objectives:
O1:Increasing tolerance,acceptance and cooperation with people from different cultures of students and teachers from 4 partner countries through involvement in non-formal activities throughout the partnership.
O2:Increasing self-confidence and self-esteem of students in the target group by actively participating in creative workshops based on teamwork and peer learning with their teachers during the project.
O3:Improving social inclusion strategies for students in the target group of the 4 countries participating in the project, through the exchange of experience and best practices by partner teachers in the2 years of the project.
O4:increasing cross-border cooperation among teachers and students in the target group by participating in project activities during the 2 years of the project;
The objectives of the project derive from the general objectives of the Erasmus + Program and from the horizontal priorities specific to the KA2 school education field and refers to the social inclusion of pupils with fewer opportunities,improving the access,participation and learning outcomes of those in disadvantaged groups(immigrants, refugees, etc),but also to promote the development of social,civic,intercultural competences,etc.in line with the Europe 2020 Strategy.
Results
Students will:
-have confidence and self-esteem increased;
-be aware of the importance of nonfromal learning
-have a higher degree of tolerance, acceptance and cooperation with people from different cultures and environments
-manifest an attitude of an active European citizen
-work in a team,communicate with pupils belonging to other cultures
Teachers will:
-use optimal communication strategies with pupils with fewer opportunities and their families
-take common inclusion strategies by promoting cooperative learning and peer learning
-provide skills to use non-formal methods in education to motivate and increase self-esteem of disadvantaged pupils
-learn alternative methods of working with pupils exposed to social exclusion used in other schools across Europe
Tangible results: site,facebook page,project panel,advertising and story for inclusion,working with parents of pupils with fewer opportunities,promotion materials,4 e-twinning projects,best practice examples and society games,newsletters,office calendars,DVDs with pictures and PPTs,3D layout of inclusion.
Beneficiaries:
-Direct -40 teachers and 60 students between 14-19 years,students with fewer opportunities;
-Indirect-at least 3500 people:teachers,school managers,pupils,parents,local authorities,inspectors.
There will be 4 LTTs :one for teachers (in Portugal) and 3 for pupils (in Spain, Greece, Romania), each having the following goal:
1. LTT For teachers – exchange of good practices among teachers.
2. 1st LTT for pupils – involving disadvantaged students and teachers in finding the best solutions to increase social inclusion through Photovoice.
3. 2nd LTT for students – Improving self-esteem and self-confidence through non-formal methods.
4. 3rd LTT for pupils – increasing the acceptance of European values through society games.
The results of the project will be disseminated at institutional, local, national and international level.
Impact:
– Above schools:Improving work schedules with fewer opportunities pupils ,methods and practices,school-to-family relationships and internationalization strategies for education,cooperation with European partners, etc.
– Above teachers: Increasing the ability to work with students with fewer opportunities, to understand them to meet their needs and to understand European educational strategies.
-About students: Improving understanding of European cultures and values, motivation and responsibility, and interest in personal development.
The sustainability of the project is ensured through the accessibility of the materials, through the realization of 4 e-twining projects, the distribution of the brochures on the SEG and e-Twinning and the establishment of the club of tolerance.
