The reason of the project is that industrialization, globalization efforts, climate change, pollution, rapid population growth and wars destroy the natural environment and genetic sources, this subject takes place in our curriculum superficially, and also students and the public do not make enough efforts for sustainable future. Our objectives are; to make students the individuals who research, query, are curious, think ciritically, focus on sustainable improvement adding scientific, geographical, mathematical and technological skills with biodiversity and environment into the science curriculum; to increase the sensitivity of the students and communities about saving the biodiversity and sustainable usage in order to divert ecological richness into economical; to make effort to secure the needs of the future generations, leave a livable natural, physical and social environment to them, to struggle against the threatenings that biological diversity is exposed to for life long; to provoke teachers and students to learn local biodiversity, know closely, appreciate ans support; to develop concrete action plans at our schools to save natural heritage and biodiversity. The target group of the project is the students who are 9-12 years old, whose science skills are low and who couldn’t develop enough attitude and habit to protect living species and the public groups. The total number of the mobilities at the end of 2 years is 71 students, 40 staff.
Learning biodiversity of the schools in partner schools and of their own schools, developing active methods for sustainable usage of ecosystems, discovering different habitats, plants, bugs and other by seeing livings that feed them, writing experience and observation about science, environment and biodiversity in the blogs, making interviews with families who make a living of fishing, preparing biodiversity maps, creating Nature’ Superheroes Biodiversity Comic Book, organizing biodiversity campaigns, watching interaction of pets with natural life, restoration of habitats, and biodiversity of sea livings port interior, participating annuel photo contest and sharing best practices with partner schools are our project activities. Partner schools will act in accordance with 24 months’ work and dissemination plan. With this project; students will develop a deeper understanding and appreciate of the complex mechanism of the ecosystems that we are a part. Biodiversity knowledge will help students make positive selections for a sustainable future; Students will clutch how to use the sources sustainably better and develop a more positive attitude for the sources in the World. They will develop how daily small actions save our natural environment; Participant schools will include new action plan into their strategic plans; Participant schools will place practices about recognition of biodiversity, saving it and developing positive attitude with interdisciplines approach into science class curriculum and provoke students to be more conscious European cThe personnel of participant institutions develop international cooperation, examine the curriculum of each other, attend common activities, produce effective solutions to save our planet, observe good practices in place to increase biodiversity awareness, gain professional experience in European level and they will be more enthusiastic to build new cooperations in future.
Students will develop transferable skills and enrich their knowledge of biodiversity. Participants will desire to develop cooperation with local, national or international institutions and play an active role to produce solutions against threatenings that destroy the living species of our planet.Good practices and activities will develop professional skills of participant personnel and they will provoke them to do better.
Our schools will include an ecologic, economic and sustainable action plan into their strategic plans. Within planning, positive behaviour changes and ecologic life habit will be aimed by the way of activities. So active participation and taking place in environmental certificate programme, Unicef Walk, Eco-Schools programme can be thought.
