Project Summary

Maths has an important role in our educational systems and is a basic tool in other subjects. This project aims to improve the Maths results of our students, to bring their applications to their daily lives, and to devellope their basic skills and their key competences, by giving a new adjustment of tendency to our lessons.
As Maths is a universal language, it’s an advantage to learn Maths in a common language, English. Students will benefit in higher education and in their future profession, when they learn Maths in English.
Our objective is to spread inspiring ideas to future teachers. Students will investigate the important role of Maths in our European history. We use this as eye catcher to share our European culture among the staff and students. This project raises the European awareness among the students. Students will investigate and share ideas to teach Maths in a more attractive way and in a challenging language.
This project uses different digital tools. By offering sorted online material (video instructions and exercises) students will improve their e-learning skills, and their 3D Maths skills will be delevoped by using 3D printers, online programs like geogebra or Maths games where students will work on spatial vision, perspective and varied geometric concepts.
Students will step in the footprints of their teachers and they will be in front of a class of young learners. Students will challenge them with virtual break-out sessions, a new way of learning by playing a game. Students do not only face the problem to overcome the theory but they will have to use their language skills as well. Students will benefit from this experience by using their cognitive skills. This project improves their self-confidence, presentation skills and speaking in public. In addition, both the activities designed and the experience lived will benefit students with cultural differences, since they will be integrated naturally in a multicultural environment in which we will encourage the fact that differences bring us closer and enrich us.
Spread over 4 secondary schools, 96 students will directly benefit of this grant. This experienced will be multiplied by sharing their experience among the partners, their schools and all over the web.
The projects treats new digital skills but doesn’t forget to handle e-safety. Twinspace is a well protected environment to communicate, and an unbeatable way to disseminate the materials produced and the results of the project.
This project produces several e-books and presentations. The students spread their enriched knowledge about Maths among fellow students, staff, parents and future teachers.
This project raises the European awareness among the students.
Students and teachers will be certificated with Europass, as a proof of their achievements in a foreign country. Students and teachers will be ready to bring teaching to a next level. The project will establish a stronger relationship between the participating schools. And a start for a longer cooperation between these partners on a local and international level.
