Project Summary

The creation of the project was based on the current migration situation in Europe, which requires increased awareness of health professionals about the cultural specifics of nursing care. We believe that deepened knowledge of healthcare professionals will contribute to the smooth communication and mutual respect among health professionals and patients, and thus will encourage the healing process.
The aim of the TNP project is to support innovation of professional development in the field of multicultural nursing. There is currently no comprehensive material related to differences in the provision of culturally specific nursing care, so project outputs are aimed at providing comprehensive and easily accessible information with the possibility of interactive communication. The target groups for the outcomes of the project will be medical students, teachers of vocational subjects, health professionals, patients, and also users from general public (travel agencies, vaccination centers etc.).
The first output of the project is the Electronic database of outputs. National versions of cultural specifics (traditions, customs, particularities) will be created according to a uniform template. The database will be placed in the web environment, freely available to professionals and the general public. The quality of processed information will be verified by student mobility. The added value of mobility will be students’ experience in their vocational and personal skills.
The second output is Study support, which will be intended primarily for students and teachers of vocational education in healthcare. Study support will include text materials, educational videos and worksheets. Materials are aimed at secondary and tertiary level of vocational education. The expected benefit is consistency, comprehensiveness and accessibility of Study support.
The last two outputs of the project will be the Brochure and the Dictionary. They will be used primarily to distribute basic information to the general public and professionals. The Brochure will present condensed information from Electronic databases of outputs aimed at providing culturally specific care. The Dictionary will help easier communication in healthcare and also in everyday life. In addition to the tangible outputs, the project itself carries a whole range of intangible benefits especially for the participants of the project itself. These include mainly new friendships, improving language skills, promoting mutual communication, and experience with the project – with the leadership and with the participation in it.
The interactive web environment will ensure the sustainability of the project. The intention and desire of the project authors will be further expansion of the website with other cultures.
