Project Summary
The mountains are a common good that is used by crowds of tourists every year, both in summer and winter. The joy of enjoying the beauty of the mountains is unfortunately intertwined with accidents in different terrain, place and time. In such a constellation, a special role is played by the GOPR mountain service, one of the main statutory duties of which is to help people in situations of danger to their health or life in the mountains. The level of preparation and training of rescuers is of key importance in this sense. Most often, GOPR rescuers are the first to reach the injured or missing persons. Their skills and effectiveness are of key importance in the first phase of an accident before being handed over to a doctor. Organizing regular training, workshops and exercises allows you to maintain the appropriate level of preparation of rescuers to act quickly and effectively in an emergency. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to optimise training methods in tactical medicine through international exchange of experience. More than 20 people representing mountain services in Poland, Germany and Slovakia will take part in the project. The workshops will cover events in summer and winter, on the surface and in caves, with the use of helicopter rescue and classical means of transport. Finally, we hope to create common standards and solutions applicable not only in the training mode but also in everyday rescue practice. It will be beneficial not only for rescuers taking part in training and rescue operations, but also and maybe above all for all people who may experience an accident in mountainous terrain and will need quick and effective help.
