Project Summary
Project: From division to cooperation – we weld Europe together!
1. context/background of the project
The close German-Polish school partnership has existed for 26 years, whereby a hidden and desperate 19th century cemetery was found by chance near the town of Wrezsnia. German families, women, men and children are buried here. The cemetery is an occasion for the German-Polish partner schools to preserve it with pupils from both countries. Up to now, the work in the Länder has been limited to simple gardening measures. The reason for the project to preserve the cemetery remains and refers to the renewal of twenty fence posts with decorative covering. What is new is the interdisciplinary concept in the occupational field of metal technology, as it combines vocational and cross-occupational learning.

4. description of the activities:
Learning arrangements are structured in a constructive way in order to develop in the mobility spiralcurricular according to the degree of variability, complexity, independence and responsibility, in connection with the company internships, as comprehensive action and self-competence.
Job-related learning area
The didactically structured project structure is divided into 4 competence-oriented modules, which are coordinated in/outside the mobility phases as competence development/qualification – curricular requirements of the (Länder) framework curricula/training regulations. The activities relate to:
→ economic, legal, mathematical aspects
→ professional problem definition after the solution beginning – industry 4.0 as manufacturing process – compile
→ encourage professional creativity with the production of the decor cover
→ ‘Welding’ as a technical and methodical task for joining metal workpieces
→ Expert discussions in (country) companies for the knowledge enhancement of digital manufacturing processes
Inter-professional learning area
The thematic development is assigned to the German-Polish learning area ‘History/Politics/Business’, so that the curricular (project) conception comprises 7 learning settings as a historical choice of topics from the 19th to 21st centuries and is oriented towards the project phases. The activities relate to:
→ communicative, social, political, historical aspects
→ On-site learning as a direct confrontation of (country) history
5. methodology for the implementation of the project:
The professional project conception is based on the manufacturing system “Industrie-4.0”: Order (Poland) → Production (Germany) → Assembly (Poland), as this learning is associated with a high technical-professional value.
6. (Short) description of the expected results/potential/long-term benefits
The project as an integrated school ‘(economic) concept’ contributes to the promotion of European cooperation/communication and forms the foundation for German-Polish follow-up projects.
