“WE ASK” project main aim was to switch off the stereotypes about gender discrimination, and turn on opportunities, for improved skills, knowledge and capacities. The project tactically addressed how gender influences our perceptions of power and leadership within families and communities, as well as the gender based violence as a destructive phenomenon of the society. At same time the project focused in advocating for gender equality, enforcing the collaboration with partners, suppliers and community leaders to promote inclusion.

Main objectives:
– Equip participants with skills and knowledge for gender equality and empowerment
– Increase the awareness about the complexity of gender equality in multicultural societies;
– Learn from the best practices of other countries and young leaders from isolated areas in promoting active citizenship among young women;
– Foster the participation of youth from rural areas in social and community life in a fair bases through exploring concepts of gender mainstreaming and leadership values
– Promote the Erasmus + Programme as a resource for promoting leadership in gender equality within youth work and build up a network of contacts to promote future projects;
– Create an effective practice that can be used by all the partner promoters and the wider networks.

It brought together 27 participants, 2 trainers, 2 facilitators and 2 staff members. A total number of 33 people were involved in each training course. Therefore the project directly trained 54 participants coming from 9 partner associations from EU and WB. As well gave them a chance to see concrete work in gender issues by visiting local NGOs based in Tirana that welcomed the groups and explained them how they work with gender issues in a women shelter.

Composed of a set of two trainings, specifically 1 on gender based violence with focus on women and young girls, and 1 on Leadership as a tool for women empowerment aimed to give space to the participants to be those whom raise their voice for human rights and aim at becoming the young leaders of change in their communities.
The training courses were implemented in Tirana, with participation of the whole partnership consortium and led by expert teams that supplied the groups with the necessary conditions for learning development.
Both courses were implemented by the use of non-formal education, learning by doing and learner centered approach with a variety of combined method of work. Each course was planned such way to leave participants space to put their learning in action while preparing and delivering own workshops in order to practice the gained knowledge and skills. Valuable feedback from the group and trainers team was provided at the end of each workshop. As a request of groups themselves trainer also provided one to one feedback during free time, so those interested could get more concrete and structured feedback upon their performance hoping it helped them on shaping their leader skills and facilitation skills.

As well the last day was dedicated to creating of new project ideas and deeper presentation and promotion of the Erasmus+ programme, together with equipping groups with various tools and resources such as COMPASS, Gender Matters manual etc.
